TURKIYE — Behind the devastating earthquake that destroyed buildings in 10 Turkiye provinces, there is a miracle shown by Allah Swt. The miracle is the find of Aras, a 5-year-old child who was trapped for 105 hours under the ruins of a building due to the Turkiye Earthquake.
In fact, when Aras was rescued, his body was cold to the point of suffering from hypothermia. Citing BBC News, rescuers managed to free Aras from the rubble of his house in Kahramanmaras City with a body temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. He was immediately taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the nearest health facility.
Nevertheless, only Aras was found safe in the evacuation, while his two older siblings and father died. Aras’s two older siblings are seven and nine years old, they are Hiranur and Alp. While hospitalized, Aras was accompanied by his grandfather, Is Mehmet (72) who also survived the Turkiye Earthquake.

When interviewed by BBC News, Mehmet appeared to be sitting by Aras’s bed and gently ruffling his grandson’s black hair. He then told BBC News that even though he was in his old age, he would take care and look after Aras for the rest of his life as if looking after his own son.
“He’s an honest kid. He’s got a strong personality. He’s sincere. He’s not a spoiled kid,” Mehmet said.
“The rescuers did very well while rescuing him (Aras), and by the grace of God, they returned him to us alive,” Mehmet continued.
Although Aras appeared to be in pain when the doctor changed the bandage on his swollen left leg, Aras’s recovery process went well. On the other hand, Aras’s mother is also known to have survived, but she has not seen her child since the devastating earthquake occurred. Aras’s mother was taken to another hospital in the same city and is expected to recover.

Other Survivors
It is not only the story of Aras that is the miracle behind the Turkiye Earthquake. There are still many other miracles that show the greatness of Allah Swt, one of which is a 65-year-old man who was found safe after six nights trapped in ruins with extremely cold weather conditions. The man was Samir from Syria. The doctor then treated him, but unfortunately both of Samir’s legs had to be amputated.
