SOUTH TANGERANG — Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa officially entered its 13th year on March 25, 2023. In the first year, DMC Dompet Dhuafa started its disaster management action from Jl. Pahlawan No.34 Rempoa, East Ciputat, South Tangerang with only a few volunteers.
After 13 years of growth, DMC Dompet Dhuafa began to move to Jalan Menjangan Raya No.130, Pondok Ranji, East Ciputat, South Tangerang City with a distribution of volunteers covering all over Indonesia and abroad.
On Tuesday (28/03/2023), DMC Dompet Dhuafa consolidated disaster management partners and volunteers in order to strengthen collaboration and synergy for the society. With the title of “Strengthening Collaboration: Empowered to Build the Country”, DMC invites the Dompet Dhuafa disaster management unit to sharpen disaster management programs for Indonesia and the world.

“I, on behalf of the management of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, congratulate the DMC Dompet Dhuafa. Hopefully, DMC Dompet Dhuafa can appear more modern, can be adaptive to the environment, can continue to be a pioneer, and can be even faster in carrying out humanitarian responses,” explained Yayat Supriatna, Executive Secretary of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation in his remark.
“The first humanitarian response of Dompet Dhuafa began when there was an earthquake in Liwa, Lampung. It became a point for Dompet Dhuafa to have one unit related to disaster response and humanity,” Yayat Supriyatna continued.
During its journey, DMC Dompet Dhuafa has metamorphosed in a better direction, thanks to the support of Kawan Baik and the volunteers. Their presence helps DMC to be able to stand upright, so that it can carry out disaster management activities optimally.
“In DMC Dompet Dhuafa’s anniversary, hopefully DMC Dompet Dhuafa will continue to add enthusiasm and continue to collaborate to keep sharing time for humanity. The spirit of collaboration, the spirit of synergy, and the spirit of holding hands are the spirit of DMC Dompet Dhuafa crew. We would like to thank all component elements of humanitarian activists,” explained Ahmad Shonhaji as Director of Social, Da’wah, and Culture Services of Dompet Dhuafa in his remark.

Now, DMC Dompet Dhuafa comes with a variety of basic tasks, including; Emergency Response & Recovery, Community Resilience and Advocacy, and Humanitarian Academy. All of these main tasks can be realized, thanks to collaboration and synergy established in various sectors, ranging from the government, private, to the community sector.

We really appreciate DMC Dompet Dhuafa which until now, together with BNPB is active in disaster management programs. Both in pre-disaster, during disaster and post-disaster, starting from Indonesia and countries in Southeast Asia,” said Iis Yulianti as BNPB Disaster Analyst representing BNPB Deputy for Prevention.
Starting from the health response unit (Respons Darurat Kesehatan Layanan Kesehatan Cuma-cuma or RDK/LKC), social response unit (Lembaga Pelayanan Masyarakat/LPM), education response unit ((Respons Darurat Pendidikan Lembaga Pengembangan Insani/RDP), and da’wah response unit (Dai Tanggap Bencana), all gathered to celebrate the anniversary of DMC Dompet Dhuafa at DMC Dompet Dhuafa headquarters, Pondok Ranji, East Ciputat.
“One thing we believe in our performance in disaster management… We cannot manage disasters by ourselves, there needs to be collaboration and synergy. It’s not enough if it’s just the role of the government and the private sector in disaster management, but the role and contribution of all of us as civil society is also highly anticipated,” said Arif Rahmadi Haryono as Chief Executive Officer of DMC Dompet Dhuafa in his remark.

DMC Dompet Dhuafa believes disaster management must be done not only to save lives and protect lives, but also to improve the quality of human life.
“DMC Dompet Dhuafa must not be tired of being a pioneer in the humanitarian movement in this republic,” concluded Yayat Supriyatna.
