A Glimmer of Hope from Azalea for Satini

Ibu santini, penerima manfaat beras dan sembako serta personal care dari program berbagi kebaikan hasil kolaborasi Dompet Dhuafa, Azalea, dan Gemilang Indonesia.

JAKARTA — Morning always brings new hope. The warm sun begins to greet, as if inviting people to welcome the day with enthusiasm and determination. Bring optimism and confidence that every effort will produce good results.

That morning, Thursday (6/13/2024), everyone was busy with their activities, including Satini (64). Since morning, Santini had rushed to attend the invitation of Mrs. RT to visit Jati Padang RPTRA. In fact, she did not know what good things would happen to her that morning.

Yes, Satini was one of 20 beneficiaries of the collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and Azalea. Azalea is a personal care product made from natural ingredients inspired by “Thibbun Nabawi”.

Satini works as an assistant in a catering business, as well as a housekeeper. She helps wash and clean cooking utensils. In her work, there is someone who has become family to Satini. Whenever there was an order for tumpeng or catering services, Satini would gladly come to help, as if they were bound by an invisible rope that strengthened their togetherness.

However, during the last month before her mother’s departure, Satini focused more on caring for her sick mother. This made her feel tired and she fell ill. As a result, in the last month Satini has stopped working.

“I don’t work anymore, sis. My mother takes care of me, but my mother was sick for more than a month and died on the 24th (June). I’m alone now. So now I just stay at home, but if there is an order, I usually help, because I get paid 100 thousand,” said Satini.

To support her daily needs, Satini relies solely on her children. The departure of her husband five years ago forced her to work hard to support her children. The Wonogiri native has been used to migrating since she was a teenager and working as a household assistant.

Now, Satini lives with one of her children. Her house is still a simple hut. Even so, she says that the house she lives in is quite livable, although it is not yet a permanent structure. The walls are only half-walled and need to be repaired.

“I get my daily bread from my children, if I don’t get it from my children, I work (helping with catering services). Sometimes I get 100,000, not necessarily, not every day. But, alhamdulillah, there is always sustenance,” she added.

Like a full moon on a dark night, Satini, who was facing difficult times, got a ray of hope. Thanks to Azalea’s kindness during Ramadan, Satini received rice and groceries to fulfill her daily needs. The assistance was provided thanks to Azalea’s collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa in the sharing kindness program.

During Ramadan, Azalea set aside 2.5 percent of every sale of personal care products to be given to mothers assisted by Dompet Dhuafa’s Zakat Management Partner (MPZ), Gemilang Indonesia.

Alhamdulillah, Satini and 19 other mothers received rice and groceries for their daily needs. Moreover, they also received various products from Azalea, such as hair care, foot care, skin care, and body care.

“Alhamdulillah, I received sustenance, Alhamdulillah, it is very beneficial for all of me. Thank you very much, thank God I got rice too, it’s a blessing for my daily life, it’s useful for me who doesn’t work. I didn’t know that I got this before, he said it just came, ya Allah … I said ‘I didn’t expect it’. Alhamdulillah, I’m very happy, thank you very much O Allah, all the shampoos, there are cleansers, there are scrubs, so many! This is the first time I also know about these products, sometimes I think about buying them. Alhamdulillah, I got it, this is really a blessing,” said Satini with a trembling voice.

“Thank you very much to Azalea and Gemilang Indonesia. Also, thank you to all the ladies who have taken the time to come to today’s event.
