CIANJUR, WEST JAVA – Not only was the outside of the mosque damaged and destroyed, the sight of each eye walking through a number of points in the mosque also looked so poor. There were domes that had come off and fallen, tiles had fallen, and even the walls had cracked as if they wanted to collapse.
Throughout the observation when going through the earthquake-affected area from Cianjur City to Kampung Rancapincung, there were a number of mosques that were also damaged that could no longer be used, such as one of them was Masjid Al Munawwarah located in Kp. Cieundeur, RT 01 RW 01, Bunisari Village, Warungkondang.
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted that the number of damaged houses and buildings is quite big, including educational facilities, worship facilities and offices. Data on this infrastructure damage continues to grow every day. As of Friday (25/11/2022), there were 363 schools were damaged and 144 places of worship were destroyed.

In fact, the earthquake did not kill or injure, but buildings that did not meet the safe standards of the earthquake which collapsed on their occupants were the cause of casualties and injuries, including roofs of houses and old buildings were also prone to injury.
The Cianjur earthquake has caused deaths and injuries. BNPB recorded a death toll due to an earthquake of magnitude (M) 5.6 in Cianjur, West Java, as of Tuesday (13/12/2022) morning as many as 335 people.
Meanwhile, the number of refuging residents was 73,693 people. Currently, Dompet Dhuafa together through organ units commanded by the Disaster Management Center (DMC) has continued to carry out post-disaster management. Other organ units also continue to be deployed, including Lembaga Pengembangan Insani (LPI) or the Human Development Institute, Layanan Kesehatan Cuma-cuma (LKC) or Free Health Services, Lembaga Pelayan Masyarakat (LPM) or Society Service Institutions, to the Badan Pemulasaraan Jenazah (Barzah) or Body Rehabilitation Agency.
“Residents hope that there will be aid for mosques so that they can continue the worship activities again,” Ade said.

The sound of the call to prayer broke the conversation. The residents were also touched by the sound of the call to prayer which was chanted facing the Qibla by one of the residents. With khidmat (respect) waiting, they were ready to hold Maghrib prayer on a tarpaulin roofed with an orange tent owned by BNPB. This was where the residents carried out religious activities everyday for a while.
