GAZA, PALESTINE — It has been more than 200 days since October 7, 2023, when the humanitarian crisis happened in Gaza, Palestine. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have lost their lives, while thousands more have been seriously injured. A critical shortage of medicines and medical aid has worsened the condition that has lasted for more than four months.
In an effort to help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians, especially in North Gaza, Dompet Dhuafa has distributed medical aid from Deca Group. The medical supplies were distributed to Kamal Adwan Hospital in North Gaza on Wednesday (1/10/2024). Thanks to this assistance, at least 2,250 people have benefited. Medicines and medical equipment are among the most urgent needs in Gaza. Israel’s attacks on Palestine have caused damage to infrastructure, including health facilities, and hampered the supply of medicines and other medical equipment. According to Human Rights Watch, on Thursday (2/5/2024), hospitals in Gaza have run out of medicines and basic medical equipment, and a number of doctors said they were forced to perform surgery without anesthesia and use vinegar as an antiseptic.

In addition, health workers in Gaza said that they had to treat a large number of wounded patients, compared to previous years. Some hospitals in Gaza are forced to cope with this problem with very few medical staff, because many medical staff were victims of attacks carried out by Israel.
“Hopefully the assistance we provide with Dompet Dhuafa is in line to help humanitarian issues and have a good impact on the lives of friends there,” Jessica said after symbolically handing over the donation on November 6, 2023. (Dompet Dhuafa)
