JAKARTA TIMUR — Lembaga Pelayan Masyarakat (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa has again become a collaboration for the Bina Santri Lapas (BSL) or Prison Student program. This time, the collaboration was carried out with the Rutan Kelas 1 Pondok Bambu, officially ratified on Wednesday (22/2/2023) at Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, Pondok Bambu, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta City.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by M. Noor Awaluddin Asjhar, S.Sos., M.Kesos. as the Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa with Dewi Sondari Bc.I.P., S.An., M.Si. as the Head of Rutan Class I Pondok Bambu.
The Bina Santri Lapas (Prison Student) program was first present in the detention centre and became the 12th partner in the collaboration of coaching programs previously established in prisons in Indonesia. The Bina Santri Lapas (Prison Student) program has also collaborated with the Directorate General of The Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, where there is a sub-program, namely Da’i Cadre Education for assisted residents.
In his statement, Awaluddin explained that in this program, residents could get an education, experience, and valuable training.
“The purpose of this program is that the assisted residents inside can become outgoing students can become dai. So, the hope is that when you graduate from here, you can become a much more useful person in the community, for yourself and your family,” concluded Awaluddin.
Meanwhile, the Head of Rutan Class I Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta in her speech, said that she was grateful for the presence of the Dompet Dhuafa team which will add a teaching team.
“The existence of this collaboration will certainly make the assisted residents more exploratory of their knowledge, hopefully in the future with the training, dai cadres can be realized,” she said.
As well as commemorating Isra Miraj Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, the event was filled with istighosah jamai events led by Ust. Abdul Azizi, Memorization of Surah Al-Waqiah and Shalawat by Assisted Citizens, ended with a tausiah (lecture) about improving oneself and multiplying salawat and dhikr delivered by the Director of Social Services, Da’wah and Culture of Dompet Dhuafa H.
