BOGOR, WEST JAVA — Despite continuous rainfall in Bogor Regency, residents of Wargajaya Village in Cigudeg Subdistrict still struggle to access clean water. Water for daily needs is extremely scarce.
To tackle this issue, Beramaljariyah and Kapitalboost collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa to deliver five water tanks to Cigudeg Subdistrict residents in Bogor Regency on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Dompet Dhuafa was chosen as the distribution partner due to its significant focus on environmental issues.
Throughout the 2023 dry season, Beramaljariyah and Kapitalboost, via Dompet Dhuafa, have conducted several water distributions in response to the drought’s impact on communities.
“We have conducted water distributions in various affected areas, such as Jasinga and Jonggol. Currently, based on the assessment by our field team, the next affected area is Wargajaya Village, Cigudeg Subdistrict, Bogor Regency,” said Abdul Gopur, Officer of Culture & Environment at Dompet Dhuafa.
This distribution provided 5 tanks, totaling 40,000 liters of water, to more than 200 households.
“Today, we have distributed clean water to the community. So far, we have distributed 5 tanks or 40,000 liters of water to Wargajaya Village, spread across each hamlet,” Gopur revealed.

It is noteworthy that drought has persisted in Wargajaya Village for over four months. During this period, to obtain clean water, residents had to navigate steep and often slippery paths.
“The drought here started when there was no rain, for about four months or more. Usually, the villagers would fetch water from below, from the river. Before the drought, we never took water from the river. For drinking and cooking, we have a very small water source. It’s down towards the river, but fetching water there means queuing and going down to the forest towards the river. Sometimes we fall because it’s very slippery. For bathing, ablutions, and so on, we use the river,” shared Lia, one of the benefit recipients of the clean water.
