DEPOK, WEST JAVA — The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) together with Dompet Dhuafa again showed their commitment to improving the quality of life of the community through the benefit program. On Thursday (22/08/2024) afternoon, these two institutions officially held a donation agreement in the form of new facilities, namely ablution and toilet facilities, as well as study dormitories in three different locations in Sukmajaya District, Depok, West Java.
The symbolic handover ceremony, which took place solemnly in the hall of Al Manar Mosque in Taman Duta, Depok, marked the completion of the construction of the facilities that were urgently needed by the local community. This assistance comes from the people’s endowment funds managed by the BPKH for Kemaslah and channeled through Dompet Dhuafa.
Also present at the handover ceremony were Miftahudin, Deputy for the Welfare of BPKH and his staff; Ahmad Faqih Syarafaddin, General Manager of ZIS Collection of Dompet Dhuafa and his staff; Nur Azizah Tamhid as Member of Commission VIII DPR RI; and representatives of beneficiaries Abdul Halim WD, Chairman of the Al Manar Mosque Foundation; Krisna Panji, Chairman of the Nurul Fikri Mosque Prosperity Board; and Mukhtar Lutfi, Chairman of the Babussalam Foundation.

The construction of wudu stations and toilets at Al Manar Taman Duta Mosque is designed with two floors, equipped with complete and modern wudu facilities. On the lower floor, there are separate ablution places for men and women, while the upper floor functions as a rest room and bathroom for marbot or mosque officials. Even at the Nurul Fikri Mosque, two floors are designed with dozens of water taps and toilet rooms.
Meanwhile, the construction of learning activity rooms at the Babussalam Cisalak Foundation is equipped with pantry rooms, bathrooms, balconies, and dormitories for orphans. These facilities are expected to improve the quality of learning and provide a decent place to live for them.
Ahmad Faqih, GM of ZIS Collection (Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah) Dompet Dhuafa, expressed his gratitude for the cooperation between BPKH and Dompet Dhuafa.
“Since 2020, BPKH has become Dompet Dhuafa’s strategic partner in the benefit program. We really appreciate the trust given by BPKH to Dompet Dhuafa,” he said.
“The assistance in the construction of ablution facilities and toilets is also expected to meet the need for a healthy, comfortable ablution place, close to the mosque building, and also safe for use by the elderly,” added Ahmad Faqih.
In line with Ahmad Faqih, Miftahudin as Deputy of Kemaslah BPKH said that this benefit program is a concrete manifestation of the management of the people’s endowment funds.
“Endowment funds managed by BPKH provide enormous benefits to the community, one of which is through the construction of public facilities as we witnessed today. The Endowment Fund of the Ummah (DAU) is a sum of funds obtained from the development of DAU, the remaining operational costs of organizing the Hajj pilgrimage and other halal and non-binding sources (grants, waqaf and assistance). All of them must be in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations, so on this occasion we strengthen that goal by praying for the pilgrims from the predecessors as their reward,” said Miftahudin.
Halim, one of the beneficiaries as well as the board of DKM Al Manar Mosque, expressed his gratitude for the assistance in the construction of ablution facilities and toilets that had been given. “We are very grateful for this new facility. All this time, we have really needed a more decent ablution place,” he said.
“If there are guests and worshippers who want to pray from outside, they are a bit confused looking for a place to wudu and a little further from the place of prayer, it is not comfortable for the elderly. Alhamdulillah, the assistance for the construction of facilities through BPKH and Dompet Dhuafa was disciplined and on time in three months from May to July,” added Halim.

Gratitude was also expressed by Mukhtar Lutfi as Chairman of the Babussalam Foundation. He also shared, “There are 80 students from kindergarten/TPQ to junior high school level, so we need a wider and more appropriate space for their learning activities and also 20 orphans who live here”.
With this new facility, it is expected to improve the quality of worship and education in the Depok and surrounding areas. In addition, the partnership between BPKH and Dompet Dhuafa is also expected to inspire a lot of goodness and other synergies to participate in social community activities. (Dompet Dhuafa)
