JAKARTA – Six representatives of the Waqf Management Agency (BPW) team of the Ar Risalah Foundation of West Sumatra visited the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation office at the Philanthropy Building, Jati Padang, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta on Thursday (12/1/2023) afternoon. The purpose and objective of the gathering is a comparative study of waqf management.
Led by H. Firman Bahar, the BPW Ar Risalah Team was welcomed directly by Bobby P. Manullang as the GM of the Dompet Dhuafa Waqf Association and the team.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you for the welcome and opportunity from Dompet Dhuafa, Mr Bobby and the team. We intend to visit Dompet Dhuafa for a comparative study and learn about waqf management,” Firman said.

Welcoming the gathering, Bobby P. Manullang also explained the information and strategies for managing Dompet Dhuafa waqf. The material on collection strategies, target donors based on age, waqf ecosystem to the platform and asset management was explained by Bobby.
“At Dompet Dhuafa Alhamdulillah, we have a variety of experiences in waqf management. Starting from vehicles, land, residential houses, Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) to waqf money, we have managed it.”
“However, to emphasize the waqf collection in Dompet Dhuafa, we are expanding the target of donors at a young age. So, in addition to targeting established age donors, we also target young people or millennials. Because in the next 10 to 20 years, they will be donors at an established age.”
“We at Dompet Dhuafa, in managing waqf, also strengthen awareness and the ecosystem. In fact, for its management, we present waqf asset management in a productive concept so that from the surplus of waqf asset management, it can become another development capital,” Bobby said.

After a complete presentation from the GM of the Dompet Dhuafa Waqf Association, the discussion flowed in the gathering. Sulistiqamah, as the Manager of the Dompet Dhuafa Waqf Collection, also added information about the steps and strategies for collecting Dompet Dhuafa waqf.
At the end of the session, the BPW Ar Risalah team hoped for a follow-up to be able to collaborate, both in the waqf program and other programs, from both parties. (Dompet Dhuafa/Taufan YN)
