Building A Site Hospital to Accelerate Turkiye Earthquake Medical Services

HATAY, TURKIYE — As a form of solidarity to the people of Turkiye who experienced a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake, Dompet Dhuafa flew a number of volunteers consisting of doctors, medical personnel and assessment teams to Turkiye. The team consists of doctors and volunteers with special skills, including neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, and disaster specialists. They are dr. Zainab Aqila, dr. Rosmalia, dr. Sjarif, Narwan and Dedi Fadli.

Through a brief news on Wednesday (15/2/2023) yesterday, dr. Zainab Aqila, who is the Person in Charge of Health Emergency Response of LKC Dompet Dhuafa, and is undergoing a humanitarian mission in Turkiye, explained that the RDK-LKC DD Team together with DMC Dompet Dhuafa and Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Indonesia built a hospital located in the Ardec, Hatay, Turkiye area.

“Currently, the RDK, DMC and EMT Indonesia teams are building a site hospital located in the Ardec area, Hatay Province, which was also affected by yesterday’s earthquake. Currently, tents have been built for services and also tents to stay,” said dr. Aqila.

The tents to be built will contain a number of health services intended for disaster survivors in Turkiye.

“The services that will be provided are polyclinics, general clinics, inpatient wards, minor surgeries, major surgeries, obstetrics and gynecology and also services for children,” said dr. Aqila.
