LAMPUNG — In an emotional atmosphere in a remote area, Dompet Dhuafa Lampung and Samudera Indonesia worked together to distribute School Kit packages to 60 students in Lampung on Sunday (27/10/2024). This activity was part of Samudera Indonesia’s 75th anniversary celebration, as well as strengthening their commitment to education for Indonesian children.
School kits containing bags, tumblers, books, shoes, and other writing utensils were distributed to students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Al-Hikmah in Talang Kepayang Hamlet and MI Nurul Hidayah in Kampung Baru Village, Kota Agung Timur District, Tanggamus Regency. This gift is not just aid, but a symbol of hope for children who live far from access to proper education.
MI Al-Hikmah was chosen as the beneficiary because this school is the only elementary school in Talang Kepayang Hamlet. The distance from this village to the nearest public school reaches seven kilometers with roads that are mostly red dirt. Meanwhile, MI Nurul Hidayah is located at the foot of the mountain and can only be accessed by two-wheeled vehicles, with slippery roads when it rains. Learning facilities in both madrasas are also very minimal.

“This school is the only elementary school in our hamlet and is the closest school for children around here,” said Yudiansyah, Head of MI Al-Hikmah.
Tara Hidayat, Human Resources Director of Samudera Indonesia, explained that this program is a form of their concern for education. He believes that every child deserves a proper education. This program is part of the company’s commitment to encourage kindness, she said, hinting at pride and hope for the children’s future.
“Education is one of the main focuses of Samudera Indonesia’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This is also in line with Samudera’s 75th anniversary theme of Do Good, Feel Good, which encourages employees to get involved in doing good together so that all parties can feel the pleasure of doing good,” he said, hinting at pride and hope for the children’s future.
In addition to distributing School Kits, Dompet Dhuafa and Samudera Indonesia also gave appreciation to teachers in Lampung.
Dompet Dhuafa Lampung Branch Manager, Yogi Achmad Fajar, said that this assistance is also a gift for children who have been patient and diligent in learning. Dompet Dhuafa also wants them to know that their struggle will never be in vain.
“Alhamdulillah, we can stay in touch and bring gifts from Samudera Indonesia. This gift is the fruit of the children’s struggle and patience in studying all this time. May it be a blessing for Samudera and all of us. Hopefully in the future the collaboration of kindness with Samudera Indonesia Lampung can continue,” he said.

When the name of Aas, one of the beneficiary students, was called to receive the assistance, her eyes lit up with happiness.
“Thank you, sis, I’m really happy!” he exclaimed excitedly, as he received the new bag and shoes that replaced his old, worn-out items.
The Head of Madrasah Al-Hikmah, Yudiansyah, closed the event with deep gratitude. From his lips, the school expressed its gratitude to Dompet Dhuafa Lampung and Samudera Indonesia. He hoped that the time and money donated would be a blessing for all involved.
“Thank you for your contribution to this madrasa. Hopefully, the time and money donated will be blessed by Allah Ta’ala. We are committed to continue trying to provide the best for the children here,” he said.
This activity not only provides school supplies, but also revives the hopes and dreams of children to achieve better education in the future. (Dompet Dhuafa)
