BTS ARMY Indonesia gelar ARMY Ramadan Giving

JAKARTA — Not only mesmerising their fans with their musical performances and on-stage actions, South Korean music group BTS is able to mobilise their fans to have a social impact. ARMY Indonesia, the name for the famous K-Pop fandom BTS based in Indonesia, implements the social values of BTS through various acts of kindness.

Together with Dompet Dhuafa, ARMY Indonesia invited 70 orphans from various regions to experience the joy of the glorious month of Ramadan 1445 AH. Located at HeArt Space 2.0, Central Jakarta, Friday (29/3/2024), this opportunity was also a place for ARMY Indonesia to share and donate, as well as break the fast together.

The joy of the orphans overflowed with the holding of various series of activities entitled ‘ARMY Ramadan Giving’. Starting from drumming yells, telling Islamic stories, making crafts, to distributing gifts.

Widis Min, one of the representatives of BTS ARMY Indonesia said, in the spirit of togetherness and care in the month of Ramadan, BTS ARMY Indonesia together with Dompet Dhuafa presents an action of joy with disadvantaged orphaned children. This kindness initiative aims to spread happiness and share blessings in the month of Ramadan. This action is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of togetherness and care as part of BTS fans who want to make a positive contribution to others. According to him, what prompted this action was the social movements carried out by BTS.

‘BTS ARMY together with Dompet Dhuafa perform acts of kindness towards orphans and orphans to do good together in order to realise the values that ARMY friends learn from BTS. This ARMY Ramadan Giving activity is not just an iftar activity, but also a forum for BTS ARMY Indonesia to provide assistance to others, especially to those in need,’ he said.

In addition, a few days earlier, a number of agendas had already been rolled out during the month of Ramadan. Among them is sharing takjil in five major cities in Indonesia. The action of breaking the fast together and sharing joy with orphans is also the closing of a series of ARMY activities with Dompet Dhuafa this Ramadan.

Imam Alfaruq, Manager of Literacy and Waqf Collection of Dompet Dhuafa, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration of kindness. According to him, there are still many acts of kindness that can be collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa. Especially in the goodness of waqf, Dompet Dhuafa has a myriad of programmes whose benefits are sustainable and widespread. Yes, waqf is an important instrument in the running of the Islamic economy or Islamic finance.

‘Thank you for contributing and collaborating in social actions with Dompet Dhuafa. May this be a record of goodness for our future provision before Allah SWT,’ said Imam Alfaruq.

At the end of the session, the Indonesian ARMYs who came handed over donations and compensation to the orphaned children. Not only that, prizes have also been prepared to be given to the most creative children during each activity session.

Two female friends who enthusiastically participated in this fun, Zahra and Kaira, admitted that they were happy throughout the event. The two children from South Jakarta managed to bring home special gifts given by Dompet Dhuafa and ARMY because of their enthusiasm and creativity.

‘Thank you Dompet Dhuafa and ARMY. I am happy to be able to join the fun with all of you. Hopefully next time we can meet again, yes,’ Zahra said to ARMY’s brothers before going home. (Dompet Dhuafa)
