JAKARTA — KB-TK Islam Tugasku again held Zakat Day during Pesantren Ramadan 1444 H activity at the local auditorium on Thursday (13/4/2023). This is done with the aim of providing education to Study Group (KB) students and Kindergarten (TK) students to get to know the obligation to pay for zakat from an early age, especially zakat al-fitr.

Located on Jl. Pulomas Jaya, East Jakarta, KB-TK Islam Tugasku entrusts the payment of its students’ zakat through Dompet Dhuafa. According to Rumyani, Head of KB-TK Islam Tugasku, her party chose a legitimate and legal zakat institution.

“We are collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa, we hope that Dompet Dhuafa will come to school, because we don’t just pay for zakat al-fitr, but the children really learn how to give zakat, how they read the prayer and they also have to know the purpose of their zakat payment,” Rumyani told Dompet Dhuafa.

In addition to building the habit of giving zakat from an early age, the existence of Zakat Day is also expected to create a sense of concern and empathy of students of KB-TK Islam Tugasku towards others.

“When the children practice paying for zakat, they automatically learn. It is also a motivation for the children to be more caring, to love giving alms and do charity, do more good. So, morally and behaviorally, the children develop well,” she added.

Thanks to that, Officer Retail Fundraising Resources Mobilization of Dompet Dhuafa, Neng Nadiyya Syaima also expressed her gratitude to KB-TK Islam Tugasku for trusting Dompet Dhuafa as an institution, for its students to pay for their zakat al-fitr.

“Alhamdulillah, the Zakat Day event at TK Islam Tugasku went smoothly, the children were very enthusiastic when participating in it. And we’re very grateful to the school for this collaboration of Ramadan goodness. Hopefully this collaboration will not only last until today, but it will also continue until next year,” said Neng Nadiyya.

With Zakat Day, it is hoped that students of KB-TK Islam Tugasku can know about what zakat is, how the prayer of zakat is, the wisdom of fulfilling zakat, so that for the long term, they can get used to zakat, as well as getting moral values to concern more and build affection between others.

The implementation of Zakat Day certainly cannot be separated from the role of parents who provide full support. The existence of this zakat payment also teaches students to learn to read the zakat prayer, to know full names, and family identities, especially their fathers.

“Obviously with this cooperation, I hope to build kindness in children. Their behavioral morals are more caring for others, building their empathy, and caring for those who are more in need and sincere to set aside their sustenance for charity,” said Rumyani.
