JAKARTA — On the anniversary of World Heart Day, Dompet Dhuafa had the opportunity to meet Kiki (42). She is a mother from Sukabumi who now acts as a single parent for her children. One of her children, Ijul (7), has congenital heart disease.
Kiki accompanies Ijul, they struggle together to undergo treatment for congenital heart disease at Dharmais Hospital, Jakarta. Since her husband and parents passed away, Kiki has only been able to focus on accompanying Ijul for treatment. Now, it has been almost a year since Kiki focused on caring for Ijul in his heart treatment.
“For heart fighters out there, keep your spirits up! Stay strong parents who have special children, keep your spirits up and keep fighting for our children,” said Kiki when met by Dompet Dhuafa in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta area, Saturday (19/9/1012).
For Kiki, the commemoration of World Heart Day is a moment to convey encouragement to heart warriors. She is happy that her son, Ijul, feels happy on World Heart Day.

World Heart Day is celebrated every September 29th. In commemoration of the day, Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Service Agency (LPM) presented an event through the Shelter Sehati Program entitled “Kuatkan Detak: Happy My Soul, Healthy My Heart” on Saturday (28/9/24) at Keong Emas, TMII, Jakarta.
This activity was attended by 120 people consisting of heart disease patients and companions from 10 shelters around Jakarta. Various entertainment events were present, ranging from coloring, watching movies, magic clown shows, to talk shows with experts.
This event was also supported by Dompet Dhuafa Volunteers (DDV) and Dompet Dhuafa Free Health Services (LKC).

Kamaludin as Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa explained that this event aims to encourage patients and their companions.
“Hopefully this event can support and strengthen the patients to be patient and recover soon. In addition, this synergy with the shelter house is a strengthening in dealing with patients who stop by,” said Kamaludin.
Sybral (3), a congenital heart disease patient from Aceh, also felt happy when participating in this event. Sybral admitted that he was enthusiastic in coloring and interacting with clowns.
“Alhamdulillah, the event was lively, Sybral was happy to play with the clowns. On this World Heart Day commemoration, we are grateful that Sybral can recover, I hope he can go to school like other children, and also not easily tired,” said Muna (24), Sybral’s parents. (Dompet Dhuafa)
