MENTAWAI, WEST SUMATRA — Coinciding with the momentum of the Maulid month of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Dompet Dhuafa in this case, through Dai Empower in collaboration with the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia (Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia) Sikakap District located on North Pagai Island South Mentawai held an MTQ Competition event throughout the island of North-South Pagai. This event occurred at the Al Furqon Sikakap Grand Mosque on Sunday (23/10/2022).
This MTQ event is the second to be held on the island of 3 (three) sub-districts after 15 years ago. The first MTQ was held in 2007 and held again in 2022. The participants in this competition are TPQ /RA institutions.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Ministry of Religion Sikakap was also present, as representatives from Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), representatives from the Indonesian National Army (TNI) agencies, both the army (AD) and navy (AL), the management of the Great Mosque and its staff. Representatives from several of these agencies also opened the largest MTQ competition event on the North-South Pagai island.
The number of participants from TPQ students and accompanying salaried teachers who participated in this competition was 100 people. They very enthusiastically and solemnly welcomed and participated in the sekalgis competition event commemorating the special moment of the Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ministry of Religion represented by KUA Sikakap, Adek Indra Wiguna SH.I., said, “Also happy and happy that the competition that collects TPQ / RA in three districts follows the moment of the special competition maulid of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. InsyaAllah, the next activity if held again, will be held the Tahfid Al Qur’an competition”.
The reason is, in the special MTQ competition of Maulid of Prophet PBUH this time, only two competition items were carried: adzan competition and the prayer of the corpse.
The children of TPQ /RA students mingle in each series of competitions. One of the participants named Sirhan, a representative of Santri PBM NURUL HUDA Tubeket, gave a good impression. “Alhamdulillah, I feel happy participating in competitions, being able to gather many friends, eating together and being able to add enthusiasm to learning,” he said.

On the last occasion, Dai Dompet Dhuafa, together with the judges, distributed prizes to the winning participants who had been judged by the judges. “The program, which is driven by Dai Cordofa Dompet Dhuafa in collaboration with the Ministry of Religion, aims to foster love for the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and unite the vision and mission between salaried teachers and students who have rarely been awakened due to the lack of activities that gather between teachers and students,” added Ustaz M. Angga Prasetiyo, a representative of Dai Cordofa Dompet Dhuafa who was placed in Mentawai.
“Hopefully, with this grand activity program, it can be lighter for the Dai and Guru Ngaji who are in the interior of Mentawai, West Sumatra,” he concluded.
