SOUTH TANGERANG –– Dompet Dhuafa organized a Stadium General which is one of the agendas of the Batch 8 Dompet Dhuafa Empowerment Dai School on Wednesday (2/11) at Syahida Inn Auditorium, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta.
The speakers were the Director of Islamic Religious Information of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), Ahmad Zayadi, the Directorate of Countering Radicalism of the National Agency for the Prevention of Terrorism (BNPT), Moch Syarif Hidayatullah, and the General Manager (GM) of Dompet Dhuafa Social Services, Juperta Panji Utama.
The three speakers delivered a variety of topics that were interesting and relevant to the problems currently being faced by the ummah. In addition, the speakers also emphasized the importance of the role of preachers in society, because preachers become a measure of the quality of the people.
The first material was presented by a representative of the Ministry of Religion, Ahmad Zayadi, who reviewed the topic of radicalism and the problems of the community. In addition, Zayadi also appreciated the presence of Dompet Dhuafa as a philanthropic institution in the country that has never stopped playing an active role in alleviating various problems in society over the past three decades. He also advised the audience that mosques and educational institutions should function as the basis of the people’s economy.
“The first task of a preacher is to convey the importance of business life. What potential can we use, so that we can maximize our duty as muharrik (mover). Dompet Dhuafa has extraordinary experience, especially in maximizing Islamic philanthropy, “said Ahmad Zayadi.
Meanwhile, Moch Syarif Hidayatullah, a representative of the BNPT Directorate, conveyed the condition of terrorism in Indonesia. According to him, there are currently at least 460 terrorist prisoners spread across 65 correctional institutions (lapas). The former Dai Ambasador of Dompet Dhuafa also explained about the motivation of the prisoners in carrying out their terrorist acts, namely due to misunderstanding of religion.

“In the future, we as preachers must be adaptive to the developments that occur in society. We must strengthen ourjama’i charity. The quality of the ummah is determined by the quality of the preacher, the way we deliver this da’wah is important. We must be eager to learn, “explained Moch Syarif Hidayatullah.
Meanwhile, GM of Dompet Dhuafa Social Services, Juperta Panji Utama told the story of Dompet Dhuafa’s journey since its inception. Starting from the Islamic philanthropy movement, Dompet Dhuafa’s source of income came from its four founders who were still students at the time. Established on July 2, 1993, Dompet Dhuafa concentrates on five ‘vicious circles’ that entangle society, namely religious spirituality, economy, health, education, and cultural values.
“Dompet Dhuafa is a pioneering non-profit organization in Indonesia that elevates the dignity and dedicates humanity to help people who are less fortunate through the management of zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf funds, as well as other halal social funds sourced from individuals, community groups, institutions, and companies,” said Panji.

For information, Dompet Dhuafa is currently organizing the 8th Batch of Dai Pemberdaya School under Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) which will last for 30 days at Wisma Syahida Inn, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
This program is carried out by filling material in classrooms and field practice. A total of 20 participants have passed the selection from various regions, ranging from Aceh to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). All participants are expected to be able to fulfill Dompet Dhuafa’s transformative da’wah needs in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas with rahmatan lil ‘alamin da’wah according to Dompet Dhuafa’s core values.***
