Daiyah Cordofa Adonara Distributes Sacrificial Meat to Solor Island

EAST SOLOR, EAST FLORES — Through the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Branch, Dompet Dhuafa also distributed sacrificial cattle to Solor Island, East Flores. For Solor Island residents, the existence of Program THK Dompet Dhuafa is the first sacrificial event in Desa Lohayong 2, East Solor District.

“Sacrificial animal slaughter is indeed centralized in Desa Lamahala Jaya, which is the village with the most populous Muslim community in Adonara. Sacrificial cattle slaughtered there was distributed to as many as 1,300 households spread across 3 islands (Solor, Adonara, Flores), in 9 sub-districts. But this time, we also sent cattle to Solor Island to be slaughtered there,” said Ustaz Muhidur, Tim Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) as well as the THK Coordinator in Adonara, on Saturday (1/7/2023).

The slaughtering of sacrificial cattle was carried out in the courtyard of Musala Khalid bin Walid. In addition, the Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) Team together with Dai Cordofa Adonara–Sukma, Umi, Lia, Novi, Fitri–also helped distribute sacrificial meat to residents in Solor.

“Even though it was hot during the day, everything felt cool when delivering the sacrificial meat house to house. Well, when meeting directly with the residents, their smiles and laughter look very happy to receive the sacrificial meat that we deliver using leaves to #KurbanAsikTanpaPlastik (#EnjoySacrificeWithoutPlastic)” said Sukma, one of the Dai Cordofa Team in Adonara.
