LIQUICA, TIMOR LESTE — Two Dompet Dhuafa Ambassadors assigned to Timor Leste, Ustaz Anshar Zulhelmi, M.A., and Ustaz Syauqi Sya’bani, L.c, M.A., had the opportunity to preach at the Al Hamud Mosque, Liquica District, Timor Leste for three days. From 15 to 17 March 2024.
Their arrival was warmly welcomed by the Muslim community there. During those three days, the two Dompet Dhuafa Ambassadors delivered various coaching materials. Among them are the importance of maintaining faith and piety to Allah Swt, the importance of studying religious knowledge, the importance of good property management, the virtue of charity, and helping others.
In addition, the preachers also had the opportunity to teach tahsin as well as dialogue with the congregation and answer various questions about Islam.
In addition to intensive coaching around the mosque, Ustaz Anshar and Ustaz Syauqi also made friendly visits to several houses of local Muslim residents or Indonesian citizens living in the district. One of the residents visited was Mrs Monica. A Muslim resident in the district who is 112 years old, but still fluent in reading surah Al-Fatihah.
This da’wah activity is part of Dompet Dhuafa’s programme to strengthen the spread of Islamic propagation in Timor Leste. Dompet Dhuafa also hopes that with this programme, the people of Timor Leste will further increase their faith and piety to Allah SWT.

The local community is also very enthusiastic about the various activities and coaching that are organised specifically in the mosque. In fact, this da’wah activity also received a positive response from the congregation of the mosque.
‘Alhamdulillah, we are very happy with the arrival of preachers from Dompet Dhuafa. The coaching they do is very useful and adds to our knowledge of Islam,’ said one of the congregation.
