LAMPUNG — The happy look on her face has begun to be covered with folds of skin that fill her face. However, her tone could not cover the excitement in her heart. Mariyem (75), a resident of Tulung Agung Village, Gadingrejo, Pringsewu, Lampung, admitted that she was happy to get sacrificial meat from Dompet Dhuafa. She lived only with Sutrisno, her youngest son, in a hut house covered with woven bamboo.
“Wes ora iso nyambut gawe nak. Kabeh anakku sing nyambut (I cannot work anymore. so all my children do it),” he said in Javanese, typical of Lampung.
Along with slaughtering animals and shredding sacrificial meat, the distribution team of Dompet Dhuafa Lampung moved through villages in the Pringsewu Regency area on Thursday (29/6/2023). The Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) members did not want to escape this act of kindness.

To expedite the distribution process of Stocking Sacrificial Animals (THK) to homes located far apart, Dompet Dhuafa Lampung deployed a fleet of Mobile Kitchen (Darling). The distribution of hundreds of packets of meat with small containers of woven bamboo (besek) went smoothly and was received with happy hearts by the beneficiaries, most of whom were duafa.
To Dompet Dhuafa, Mariyem admitted that she could not do anything. Her activities at home are just sitting around and relying on the child to care for her. The child does all home activities, such as cooking, washing, and cleaning. While the son, Sutrisno, only works as a day labourer.
Before reaching old age, Mariyem worked as a bamboo weaving maker. The type of webbing he made was in the form of a sieve to filter squeezed coconut milk. Now, the child does all home activities such as cooking, washing, and cleaning.

Later, Mariyem admitted that she would ask the child to cook sacrificial meat obtained from Dompet Dhuafa so that it had a soft texture. Of course, so that she can enjoy sacrificial meat. However, Mariyem wanted to use the blessings of sacrificial worship.
“Mangane yo setitik wae. Ulet-ulet ngono (Just eat it little by little. Bit by Bit),” she said.
Mariyem repeatedly expressed her gratitude to the Dompet Dhuafa Team. Through the team, Mariyem received an explanation that the meat that could be entrusted was a deposit from Dompet Dhuafa donors from Hijra Bank, who wanted their sacrifice to be enjoyed by the wider Indonesian community.
