TANGERANG SELATAN — Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC), through Dompet Dhuafa branch offices, is intensifying emergency response services in 9 (nine) provinces in Indonesia. Last Sunday (02/10/2022), together with Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, DMC Dompet Dhuafa deployed a team to help accelerate the emergency handling of the earthquake disaster in North Tapanuli. So on Thursday (06/10/2022), the Dompet Dhuafa Waspada team and DMC Dompet Dhuafa closed their emergency response services. Previously, in the emergency response to the Tapanuli earthquake, DMC Dompet Dhuafa and Dompet Dhuafa opened a Public Kitchen and cleaned up the Public Toilet Cleanup program with survivors.
Last Friday (07/10/2022), the Free Health Service Health Emergency Response (RDK) of Dompet Dhuafa Aceh, together with DMC Dompet Dhuafa, sent a team to the flood-affected area in Meunasah Mancang Village, Lhoksukon District, North Aceh Regency. Previously, the group had also opened a Public Kitchen, Warm Post, and Healthy Service Action (ALS) for survivors affected by the flood. Until Wednesday (12/10/2022), the team is still working on emergency response services in the form of logistics distribution to 9 (nine) evacuation points and 2 (two) Public Kitchens.
“We are distributing logistics to several locations that have not been touched by assistance,” reads the written report that DMC Dompet Dhuafa received.
Later on, on Saturday (08/10/2022), Dompet Dhuafa Central Java and DMC Dompet Dhuafa deployed a flood response team in Kalijeruk Village, Kawunganten District, Cilacap Regency, Central Java. The team has carried out emergency response services in the form of Healthy Service Actions and evacuations for survivors until Wednesday (12/10/2022).
“The Medical Team conducted health services to several hamlets in Kalijeruk Village. Then the team shifted to Kroya District for a response in Gentasari Village, and Mujur Village, Kroya District, Cilacap Regency,” wrote the team in charge of the on-site response team report.
On the same day, Saturday (08/10/2022), due to high rainfall that hit the Island of the Gods, three areas in Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali Province, experienced flooding. Dompet Dhuafa Bali and DMC Dompet Dhuafa helped communities affected by floods by evacuating submerged motorbikes and distributing ready-to-eat food.
In another location, more precisely in Sukamaju Village, Cihaurbeuti District, Ciamis Regency, West Java, on Saturday (8/10/2022), Dompet Dhuafa West Java and DMC Dompet Dhuafa cleared the landslide material that blocked the road in Sukamaju Village.
Then last Monday (10/10/2022), Dompet Dhuafa Banten and DMC Dompet Dhuafa opened an emergency response service for floods in Lebak Regency, Banten. The team has opened a Warm Post (Post Hangat) and distributed ready-to-eat meals and medicines.
“Conducting advocacy activities after the disaster response emergency period with disaster mitigation activities in flood-affected areas. Because the area is considered a flood subscription area and prone to landslides,” reads a report from the Dompet Dhuafa flood response team in Lebak.
Then in the Jabodetabek area, DMC Dompet Dhuafa deployed 4 (four) teams directly to the flood point in the Jabodetabek area on Thursday (6/10/2022). Due to heavy rain, some parts of the Jabodetabek area flooded. The alpha team was assigned to Pondok Labu, the Beta team to Pasar Minggu, the Carli team to Ciputat Baru, and the four Delta teams were in the Pendopo Eyang Agung. The response team is always ready to stand by at DMC Dompet Dhuafa headquarters, Pondok Ranji, Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang.
“Entering the rainy season, we are adding personnel at our headquarters,” explained Haryo Mojopahit, Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, in a short message. In addition, most recently, the Dompet Dhuafa DMC team will deploy a response team through east Java Zakat Management Partner (MPZ) volunteers to accelerate flood management in Pacitan Regency, East Java, on Wednesday night (12/10/2022). Together with Dompet Dhuafa East Java, the team will conduct an assessment and data collection of victims and flood-affected areas. Finally, the Dompet Dhuafa team is still running response services in the form of logistical distribution for flash flood survivors in Pakistan.
“This time, Dompet Dhuafa also distributed food staple packages to Pakistani flash flood survivors in Sujawal District, Sindh Province. Alhamdulillah, the Beneficiaries of 50 households, with a total of 420 people, are enthusiastic about welcoming here,” explained Narwan, the Response-Recovery Manager of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, reporting from Sujawal District. After distributing the basic food packages, the Dompet Dhuafa Response Team will also roll out the Healthy Service Action (ALS) and establish a Communal Shelter for several families there.
“We’re going to present ALS. From the interim assessment, many survivors have been affected by skin diseases and malaria,” added Narwan.
