SOUTH TANGERANG — Disaster Management Center (DMC) held a basic Vertical Rescue training with students of UKM Bakti Care, STIM Budi Bakti on Thursday (9/02/2023). STIM Budi Bakti is a high school managed by the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation. This training is entitled “Capacity Strengthening in Relief at Heights”.
In his speech, DMC Humanitarian Academy Manager, Ahmad Lukman said he missed sitting down and discussing with students, especially students who care about how to do first aid. After that, Lukman began to explain the meaning of Vertical Rescue in the opening of this activity.
“Vertical Rescue is a technique used to evacuate or move something to a much safer location, be it goods or victims, from the lowest point to the other point,” Lukman said.

Furthermore, Lukman explained what activities would be carried out in this training. These activities include introducing disaster tools or management, things about first aid, and help when in the field.
“Hopefully, friends can absorb and practice what the staff said later regarding how to do first aid using the tools already here,” he said.

Furthermore, this training activity was guided by Barqu Sudja’i as Emergency Response Staff of DMC Dompet Dhuafa. Barqu Sudja’i explained about the types of personal protective equipment used for Vertical Rescue purposes in detail. He gives a pleasant explanation. This also made the participants feel comfortable while participating in this training.

This training was held with the hope that students who are members of the Bakti Care UKM and participate in the Vertical Rescue Basic Training will understand more about first aid, especially in the field.
