MAGELANG, CENTRAL JAVA — The availability of water is very important in human life. Easy access to clean water has become a mandatory item in the human life cycle. In an effort to improve access to clean water for the community, Dompet Dhuafa through its Central Java branch in collaboration with Bank Indonesia, launched the Water for Life Programme in two different locations.
The programme comes in two different programmes. The first is the construction of a borehole well in Ngemplak Hamlet, Tempuran District, Magelang Regency. Then the second is a pipeline project in Kebonan Hamlet, Tolokan Village, Getasan District, Semarang Regency.
Both programmes were inaugurated and attended by Dompet Dhuafa Central Java Branch Manager , Zaini Tafrikhan, who expressed his appreciation to Bank Indonesia. Thanks to Bank Indonesia’s support, Dompet Dhuafa can expand its Water for Life Programme.

‘Water is a basic need that is very important for daily life. Through this collaboration, we hope to help communities in both locations to gain better access to clean water. So that in turn it can improve their quality of life,’ said Zaini in his speech, on Thursday (28/11/2024).
Borehole Well in Ngemplak Hamlet
The construction of the borehole well in Ngemplak Hamlet is a solution to the local residents’ difficulties in obtaining clean water supply. So far, residents have relied on tank water assistance that is not always available when needed. With the borehole well, it is hoped that the community can obtain clean water more easily and affordably.
So that the need for clean water from the residents of Ngemplak Hamlet, Tempuran District, Magelang Regency, is fulfilled. Residents also do not need to worry about the availability of clean water for daily use.

Pipanisation in Kebonan Hamlet
The pipeline programme in Kebonan Hamlet is the answer to the urgent need for clean water in the village. The system is to build a pipeline system that delivers clean water directly to residents’ homes. Of course, with the hope that the programme can reduce residents’ dependence on limited water sources and improve the culture of clean living and health in the environment.
The collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa Central Java and Bank Indonesia is part of the commitment of both parties. As an effort to support sustainable development and community welfare through the fulfilment of basic needs such as clean water.
The Water for Life programme is expected to be a model of collaboration that inspires various parties. It is also a form of innovation in providing solutions to the basic needs of the community, especially in terms of access to clean water. (Dompet Dhuafa)
