DEPOK, WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa and Bina Trubus Swadaya have agreed to work together to run a people’s economic empowerment programme through the development of Social Agropreneurs. One form of programme synergy that will soon be implemented is the empowerment of social agropreneurs, especially coffee in Bajawa, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two philanthropic institutions took place at Wisma Hijau, Cimanggis, Depok on Friday (7/3/2024). This memorandum of understanding is a form of Pancasila in Action in the context of people’s economic empowerment and poverty alleviation.
The cooperation that will be built and run by Dompet Dhuafa and Bina Trubus Swadaya includes many things. Among them is economic empowerment through the social agripreneur programme. This is done by recruiting and providing agripreneur training for new college graduates who have business ideas or who have pioneered social enterprises.
These social agripreneurs will receive mentoring as a complete business incubation. They will also be assisted to develop institutional capacity that involves all relevant elements, without any marginalised parties.
In addition, the two social institutions will also conduct a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) related to the empowerment model involving multi-stakeholders. This discussion is intended to find the best solution to support the formation of a good empowerment ecosystem.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was done by Rahmad Riyadi and Yayat Supriyatna as Chairman and Secretary of Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa Republika (YDDR) and Prof. Dr. Ir. Bayu Krisnamurti and Emilia Tri Setyowati, respectively as Chairman and Secretary of Yayasan Bina Trubus Swadaya (YBTS).
Also witnessing the signing ceremony were the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of YDDR, Parni Hadi and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of YBTS, Bambang Ismawan. On this occasion, both of them reaffirmed their determination to continue to strive to realise Pancasila in real activities, not just in words. The aim is that the poor can be alleviated and become a more prosperous people.
“This cooperation is done for Mother Earth,” said Parni.
