Through the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) Team, Faqih continued, assessments were immediately carried out in the affected locations. There are four priority villages with the most severe disaster impact. Namely Bojongkasih, Neglasari, Sukaraja and Sukakerta in Kadupandak District, Cianjur, West Java.
“Alhamdulillah, today’s aid handover procession can be held in collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and BPKH RI. Through DMC Dompet Dhuafa, we also collected data on disaster locations and finally came out with the results, four names of the worst affected villages,” said Faqih, Tuesday (12/24/2024).
Indriayu Afriana as Head of the Strategic Program Division and Independent Executor of the Welfare of BPKH RI said that this assistance was a form of BPKH’s commitment to contribute to the benefit of the community, especially residents who were affected by the disaster.
The types of assistance distributed were 500 packages of basic necessities and hygiene kits (shampoo, soap and wash), canned rendang meat, and warm clothes. For baby needs, blankets and eucalyptus oil are available. The aid will be distributed to a total of 111 family cards (KK) and 330 residents in Kadupandak sub-district. The rest will be distributed to other affected residents in the sub-district.
“We (BPKH) are assisted by our benefit partners, Dompet Dhuafa and DMC Dompet Dhuafa. We are trying to help and provide support for flood and landslide survivors in Kadupandak District. Hopefully the assistance that comes from the value of the benefits of the BPKH RI Endowment Fund can be channeled with the right target,” said Indri, Tuesday (12/24/2024).
Martini, one of the affected residents as well as a beneficiary, shared her bad experience. After the land shift that occurred on December 4, she and her family were evacuated to a safe place. Her daily work as an MSME entrepreneur was also hampered. Now her shop and house are destroyed and unable to function at all.
“Every day I sell groceries, LPG and gallons in my shop. Now my shop and house are destroyed. They can no longer function. As a result, there is no income to support the children. So, this assistance from BPKH and Dompet Dhuafa is very useful to help my family’s life, to cover their daily needs,” said Martini.
Martini’s father Anjun Basuni (70) said the same thing. His work has been hampered. The floods and landslides damaged his fields. He can only stay in the rented house near the evacuation site.
“When the incident happened, I immediately ran through the bushes to the mountain. Because the electricity poles had fallen and hit the main road. This affected my work in the fields and paddy fields. My rice fields are gone, my fields are gone, I can’t go anywhere. My house was damaged to the point that it was uninhabitable,” said Basuni in a hoarse voice.

Now Martini and her father have received food packages and hygiene kits that will support their daily lives, until they get further certainty from the Cianjur government over their fate.
The collaboration of kindness between BPKH RI and Dompet Dhuafa this time is a ray of hope for the affected residents. Encouraging the survivors and inspiring other community entities to increase participation in the benefit of the wider community. (Dompet Dhuafa)
