Dompet Dhuafa and The Foodhall Seek Wider Benefits of Sacrifice

JAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa together with The Foodhall once again stirred up the spirit of sharing in welcoming Eid al-Adha 1444 H through the event “Kurbanaval Goes To The Foodhall: One Sacrifice Many Goodness.” This event was filled with entertainment and talk shows at The Foodhall Grand Indonesia Store, Jakarta, on Sunday (11/6/2023).

Present to guide this festive event, Allanissyifa Cintara Firdaus and the performers, namely Mariatul Kibtiah as Chairman of THK 1444 H, Etika Setiawanti as Director of Resource Mobilization of Dompet Dhuafa, Cekly Anggono as Store Manager of The Foodhall, Indrianto Faishal as Dai Ambassador of Dompet Dhuafa, and Aliyah Sayuti as one of the Super Volunteers of Dompet Dhuafa.

The implementation of this event is also a medium of information to the public in publicizing the virtues of the Dompet Dhuafa Program Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK). This collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and The Foodhall intends to invite The Foodhall customers and also the general public to sacrifice through every cashier of The Foodhall store in 37 stores in Indonesia.

Etika Setiawanti in her speech session, said this collaboration is one of the efforts to equalize community welfare. Start from the economy to health, especially in meat consumption in areas minus the availability of meat and joint efforts in reducing stunting by increasing animal protein consumption for children in areas in need, especially in remote parts of Indonesia. Thus, this collaboration with The Foodhall can encourage people to sacrifice easily in Dompet Dhuafa.

“THK is Dompet Dhuafa’s effort for the welfare of farmers. If you sacrifice in Dompet Dhuafa, the animals come from farmers who we empower who have livestock centres in 11 points throughout Indonesia,” she said.

Meanwhile, Cekly Anggono said, “This is our effort together with Dompet Dhuafa so that sacrifice can reach the whole country and be felt by many people.”

Citing IDEAS data as of June 2022, it has been identified that in 2021 there are at least 74.4 million mustahik people who are the group with the lowest meat consumption, hence the most entitled to receive sacrificial meat. Mustahik is best to receive this sacrificial meat, namely 5.8 million mustahik extremely poor (below 0.8 poverty line / GK), 12.4 million poor mustahik (0.8–1.0 GK), 16.6 million mustahik almost poor (1.0–1.2 GK) and 39.6 million mustahik vulnerable poor (1.2–1.6 GK).

So from year to year, Dompet Dhuafa always strives to increase the collection of sacrifices in the hope that it can more widely spread the benefits of sacrificial worship prescribed by Islam.

“This year, we target 32,000 sacrifices equivalent to sheep/goats or domba/kambing (doka). We hope that the more sacrifices we collect, the more distribution we do and of course, this is for the benefit of the mustahik. So that many of our friends, our brothers and sisters in remote areas, will enjoy sacrificial animals,” said Mariatul Kibtiah as Head of THK 1444 H, at the regional title session.

The implementation of THK Dompet Dhuafa is also considered very safe from various sides. Ustaz Indrianto, on his occasion, explained that the sacrifice in Dompet Dhuafa is safe in at least 3 things, namely Aman Syari, Aman Regulasi, and Aman NKRI.

The collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and The Foodhall has been ongoing for the last 5 years. Through Dompet Dhuafa Sacrificial Animal Stocking, The Foodhall wants to facilitate its customers to participate in distributing sacrificial animal meat to communities in remote areas.

Sacrificial animals provided by Dompet Dhuafa will be distributed to areas in need, namely remote, underdeveloped, and deepest areas. In addition, the intended area is where people have never enjoyed sacrificial animal meat, as well as disaster or conflict-prone areas. (Dompet Dhuafa/Muthohar)
