Dompet Dhuafa and YP Muttaqin Al-Farabi Distribute Clean Water to Refugees in Al Turaini Camp Gaza

AL-TURAINI CAMP, SOUTH GAZA – YP Muttaqin Al-Farabi, through Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, distributed clean water assistance to refugees in Al Turaini Camp, Deir Al Balah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestine on Tuesday (12/31/2024). This aid distribution is part of a series of solidarity actions initiated by the foundation and the surrounding community to help ease the burden of our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

This clean water aid is expected to alleviate their suffering due to the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Dompet Dhuafa Waspada’s involvement in the distribution of this aid adds to the long line of humanitarian efforts that continue to be carried out to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine, especially in meeting their basic needs.

This clean water aid was distributed to 350 families who live in Al Turaini Camp. This camp, which houses many conflict-affected refugees, faces great difficulties in gaining access to clean water resources. In this context, clean water assistance becomes very important.

This fundraising event involved various parties, from teachers, students, to parents of students in YP Muttaqin Al-Farabi, who all played an active role in collecting donations for Palestine. Through solid cooperation, they managed to raise funds which were then channeled to have a direct impact on the people in need in Gaza, making this action a real example of care and solidarity for others.

Sulaiman, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, explained that for the past two months, this organization has been distributing aid in the form of clean water, in response to the urgent needs on the ground. Previously, assistance was distributed in the form of ready-to-eat food to help meet the nutritional needs of refugees who were very short.

Sulaiman revealed that clean water is indeed a top priority that must be distributed immediately given the limited supply of clean water that greatly affects the daily lives of refugees.

“We see that the clean water crisis is critical and must be addressed immediately. Therefore, after distributing food aid previously, we are now focusing on clean water distribution,” he said.

He also said that the distribution of aid will continue to be adjusted to field conditions and the types of assistance most needed by refugees, so that the distribution of aid remains relevant to their immediate needs.

In addition, Sulaiman also hoped that the people of North Sumatra and all concerned parties can continue to support the humanitarian efforts that are being carried out. He then closed his statement by thanking all those who had contributed, both in fundraising and in the implementation of aid distribution.

Maulana Malik Muttaqin, who is the Trustee of YP Muttaqin Al-Farabi, also gave high appreciation to Dompet Dhuafa Waspada for its professionalism and accuracy in distributing aid. He stated that the cooperation between YP Muttaqin Al-Farabi and Dompet Dhuafa Waspada had gone very well and the assistance sent was right on target, the refugees could immediately benefit.

“We would like to thank Dompet Dhuafa Waspada for organizing the distribution of this aid quickly and efficiently. This is very helpful for Palestinian refugees who desperately need clean water,” said Maulana Malik.

He added, the collection of donations for Palestine is an ongoing activity in the Al-Farabi School environment and is driven by the spirit to always support those in need. This is especially true in the midst of the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

In closing, Maulana also prayed that Allah Swt would give blessings to the big family of Al-Farabi School, Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, and all the people involved in raising aid. He hoped that the prayers and support given to Palestine will bring goodness to all parties involved.
