JAKARTA – Dompet Dhuafa staged a theatrical act and a press conference entitled “Solidarity for Palestine” in the courtyard and lobby of the Philanthropy Building, South Jakarta, on Thursday morning (12/10/2023). The action by the RAS community theater depicted events in the Israel-Palestine conflict that has escalated since October 7, 2023.
Through the press conference with speakers, Prima Hadi Putra, the Director of Communications and Technology at Dompet Dhuafa, dr. Yeni Purnamasari, the GM of Health at Dompet Dhuafa, and Haris Azhar, an Activist and Human Rights Observer, Dompet Dhuafa encouraged the unity of the Indonesian community to continue rolling out humanitarian programs for the Palestinian people.
Through this Press Conference for Solidarity for Palestine, Dompet Dhuafa also took a stance on the escalation of violence in Israel-Palestine. This was conveyed by Prima Hadi Putra, the Director of Communications and Technology at Dompet Dhuafa. The statement of stance includes:

- On behalf of humanity, Dompet Dhuafa expresses deep concern over the escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine, which has claimed many civilian casualties.
- Calls on all parties involved in the conflict to immediately cease the escalation of violence to avoid more casualties, especially among civilians.
- Dompet Dhuafa asks the government of the Republic of Indonesia to increase the role of necessary diplomatic efforts to stop the spread of the conflict and also open channels for humanitarian aid.
- Calls on all communities everywhere to come together and raise awareness by mobilizing humanitarian aid for civilian victims of violence, to meet basic needs such as health services, medicine, food, etc.

Since its establishment, thankfully, Dompet Dhuafa has received trusts from the Indonesian community, especially to ask for help for Palestine, and almost every time there is an escalation of violence in Palestine, Dompet Dhuafa always calls for solidarity for Palestine and distributes aid from the trust of the Indonesian community.
This aid is realized in several programs, including: the construction of water wells from the Indonesian community’s endowment funds at several points in Palestine; logistics distribution; public kitchens, but regretfully our public kitchen was attacked by Israel during the previous military aggression and is now out of operation. Dompet Dhuafa hopes these programs can continue, of course, with support from the Indonesian community.
“We hope that this violence will end soon. However, for now, Dompet Dhuafa is opening access for sharing through various Dompet Dhuafa channels, also via the DD Apps application.
