Dompet Dhuafa Commits to Build Medical Point Facilities for the Palestinian People

JAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa is committed to helping fulfil the needs of the Palestinian people. Especially Palestinians such as children, women, and those who are late to get health services and people who are in refugee camps. Most recently, Dompet Dhuafa has built medical points/clinics for the Palestinian people at several points. One of them is a haemodialysis clinic in North Gaza. This Medical Point has provided polio vaccination services to 400 children under the age of 10.

‘I personally and also the foundation, we would like to thank Dompet Dhuafa and its amil, as well as the people who support its activities by providing medical equipment that is very helpful for the survivors here,’ said FPEA Chairman and Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in North Gaza, Fares A. Afana.

Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Board of Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, said that all the programmes run by Dompet Dhuafa for Palestine are the result of the collaboration of many parties who care about Palestine.

‘Hopefully, with many parties who care, many Palestinians can be helped. We will continue to uphold the distribution of trustworthy programmes, for the sake of Palestinian independence,’ said Ahmad Juwaini.

Given the difficulty of access to Palestine, Dompet Dhuafa and the global humanitarian solidarity network collaborate with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to continue sending aid. Starting from basic needs, such as food and drinking water, procurement of winter clothes, distribution of medicines, procurement of medical facilities and ambulances, installation of public kitchens, meat alms during qurbani moments, including providing fuel oil for hospital/clinic and ambulance operations.

Dompet Dhuafa’s support for Palestine is also done through the arts. One of them is by holding a Musical Theatre ‘Tanah yang Terpenjara’ in collaboration with Titimangsa which was successfully held on Thursday, 3 October 2024, at the Jakarta Arts Building.

The musical theatre performance combined elements of dance, poetry, humanitarian speeches, and music that depicted the daily life of the Palestinian people. The performance was touching and moving, and hypnotised hundreds of pairs of eyes. All ticket sales and funds raised from the musical theatre will be channeled to the people of Palestine.

Today, it is exactly one year since Palestine was colonised by Israel. According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 41,272 people were killed and 95,551 people were injured in the Gaza Strip. More than 564 schools in the Gaza Strip were also directly affected or damaged by Israeli attacks. Then, 360,000 housing units were affected by the attacks, resulting in more than 1.7 million people displaced.

It should be remembered that the occupation carried out by Israel on Palestinian land did not occur for the first time on 7 October 2024, but the occupation has been started by Israel since 1947. This means that it has been 77 years since Israel committed genocide against the Palestinian people. Don’t get tired and don’t let your guard down, let’s continue to raise our voices for Palestinian independence! (Dompet Dhuafa)
