In this case also children should be encouraged to increase creativity, enthusiasm for learning which is not only for general knowledge, but also accompanied by motor skills.

“With the title ‘Happy Pizza,’ DMC Dompet Dhuafa echoes concern for children in terms of education and provision of cooking skills to support their independence in the future. This theme is also in line with the main theme of National Children’s Day 2023, namely ‘Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia’,” explained Akbad Saddam as Acting General Manager of DMC Resource Hub Dompet Dhuafa via short message.

This event is organized to train children’s interest in cooking activities that will be useful for themselves. In addition, it is also to train children’s independence in producing goods/services for themselves. All these activities must be packaged according to age level and must be filled with fun.

“It’s nice to learn how to make pizza. Usually, only see it on TV,” admitted one of the children.

An educational scientist, J. Erricker, revealed that children’s education filled with joy is the key to educational success. Happiness is defined as an effort to control children or children’s independence in their daily activities.

“For someone to be happy—adults or children—they need to feel a sense of control over what happens to them,” Erricker writes.

According to him, children can see and learn from the media (TV, social media, etc.) about achieving success and being happy by being better than others as individuals, rather than achieving happiness that comes from active participation in supportive communities/groups/societies. However, often, excessive attitudes of parents in protecting their children become obstacles to children’s growth in absorbing all forms of education/education.

It is often said that children nowadays do not go to school alone, do not play in the streets and parks alone, and do not spend all day on the beach alone. If they are given such experience, it will allow them to practice self-reliance and be able to learn the skills necessary in their future lives.

On the one hand, the key to success in educating children while still providing adequate protection is to introduce fun aspects of empowerment. Empowerment is able to bring active participation during learning sessions supervised by parents/guardians so that children’s safety and flexibility can appear and present nuances of happiness during learning sessions.
