BOGOR, WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa had the opportunity to present material at the Silatbar & Great Deliberation of Islamic Communication & Broadcasting (KPI) Moving 2024 at Ibnu Aqil 2, Bogor. Lasting for three days, from December 6-8, 2024, the event organized by the Alliance of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Students in West Java was attended by dozens of KPI students in West Java from various campuses.
On the second day of the event, Saturday (07/12/2024), Yudha Andilla as Dompet Dhuafa’s Retail Fundraising Manager, became a guest speaker with material on the implementation of Islamic communication and broadcasting in Islamic philanthropic institutions. In his presentation, Yudha explained that Dompet Dhuafa was born from the media, namely Republika Daily, so that communication principles and journalistic rules are always applied in every activity of this institution.
“Communication is the heart of every philanthropic activity. Without effective communication, we will not be able to move people’s hearts to do good. At Dompet Dhuafa, we believe that every word and every image we convey must have a positive and inspiring impact,” he said.
According to him, communication science is needed by philanthropic organizations and zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (Ziswaf) institutions to spread the call for goodness and invite people to participate in social efforts. He also emphasized Dompet Dhuafa’s role as a mediator between mustahik (beneficiaries) and muzaki (zakat givers), which helps convey messages of kindness to various parties.
In this digital era, Dompet Dhuafa utilizes various social media platforms as a means to spread kindness. One of the fundraising platforms provided is through jadibaik.org, which allows anyone to become a campaigner and invite others to donate to help those in need. Moreover, this is a vulnerable time for Indonesia to experience calamities and disasters.
“KPI students have great potential to become agents of change in society. With their communication knowledge, they can be a voice for those who have no voice, and inspire many people to do good. Let’s go! Together we become broadcasters of goodness who not only convey information, but are also able to move hearts,” he added.
