JAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa succeeded in uniting the spirit of music and cultural preservation in the festive atmosphere of the Pesta Semalam Minggu Vol. 5 music festival at Ancol Ecopark, Sunday (27/10/2024). Pesta Semalam Minggu is a music festival titled “Tribute to Didi Kempot”. As a charity partner, Dompet Dhuafa not only presents entertainment, but also carries a noble mission in community empowerment.
One of the flagship programs echoed is the “Sustainable and Empowering Batik Movement” campaign. Through this campaign, Dompet Dhuafa focuses on empowering fabric crafters, especially women. Nani Nurhayati Lestari, a craftsman from Yogyakarta, is the icon of this campaign.
“Thanks to Dompet Dhuafa’s support, my batik is increasingly recognized, even to foreign countries. This proves that our local products have enormous potential,” said Nani on one occasion after attending an exhibition at Folk Art Market Santa Venue Mexico.
Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Relation Officer Dimas Muttakhin said, “Preserving batik means preserving ancestral cultural heritage and enriching national identity. In preserving this culture, Dompet Dhuafa includes aspects of community economic empowerment, especially women. We hope that many people will take part in this campaign, so that there will be other Ibu Nani Ibu Nani”.
This batik campaign is not just about promoting products, but also promoting social and cultural values. Batik, as Indonesia’s cultural heritage, has high aesthetic and philosophical values. By supporting batik artisans, Dompet Dhuafa helps preserve the nation’s cultural heritage.
In addition to the batik campaign, Dompet Dhuafa also provided various social services for festival visitors, such as musala, free health checks, and mental health consultations with Prapti Leguminosa, M.Psi. These services demonstrate Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment to providing benefits to the community at large.

This collaboration between the private sector and social institutions is a strategic step towards achieving sustainable development goals. By combining strengths and resources, it is expected to create a greater impact on society, improve welfare, and build a better future.
The collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and the organizers of the Sunday Night Party is a clear example of how entertainment activities can be combined with social action. This shows that caring for others can not only be done in a serious place, but also in the midst of the excitement of a music festival.
The batik campaign initiated by Dompet Dhuafa has wider implications for sustainable development. In addition to preserving culture, this campaign also contributes to the economic empowerment of the community, especially women. By empowering women, Dompet Dhuafa wants to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially goals number 5 (gender equality) and number 8 (decent work and economic growth).
