So, to support performance and make it easier for people to collaborate in kindness, Dompet Dhuafa began to continue to develop digital-based systems and try to develop the world of the metaverse.
Dompet Dhuafa held a Talk Room event entitled “The Role of Institutions & Utilization of Digital Technology in Poverty Alleviation”. The event occurred at Tigalima Kopi Menteng, Jalan K.H. Wahid Hasyim, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/2/2023).
Also present in the agenda of this Public Discussion was Suci Nuzleni Qadarsih as Chairman of Ramadan 1444 H Dompet Dhuafa, Prima Hadi Putra as Director of Communication & Technology of Dompet Dhuafa, Haryo MojoPahit as GM of Communication of Dompet Dhuafa, Tira Mutiara as a researcher of IDEAS, Gaib Maruto Sigit as Pemred MNC, Ade Rukmana as the beneficiary of Program Desa Tani, Pradwita Ghazali as General Manager of FreakOut Indonesia, Agung Lesmana as Head of Sharia Business Development and Product Solution of Bank Jago, and VADS.
Through the event, Dompet Dhuafa wants to encourage strengthening in the zakat, infak, sadaqah and waqf sectors through digital technology in the form of digitalization-based zakat services to alleviate poverty. Dompet Dhuafa invites muzaki to dive into new experiences interacting with service personnel, especially in consulting related to zakat and ease of ZIS payments at Dompet Dhuafa.

Prima Hadi Putra revealed that digitalization is one way to reduce poverty. By measuring the digital capability index in distributing and receiving zakat.
“Digitalization is the first step in digital transformation, the first step is carried out by measuring the digital capability index for distributing and receiving zakat. Digitalization is included in efforts to solve poverty problems ranging from the bottom poor, potential poor people, to poor people who have assets using the Artificial Intelligence Of Things (AIoT) system so that the 3 layers of poverty can be handled according to their needs,” explained Prima Hadi Putra.
Haryo Mojopahit as GM of Dompet Dhuafa Communication, added that Dompet Dhuafa is committed to empowering the dhuafa community through an empowerment triangle.
“Dompet Dhuafa’s role in alleviating the problem of poverty through the concept of an empowerment triangle, namely by eliminating emergencies, then building access, and improving the system through programs formulated by Dompet Dhuafa with the main objective being to reduce the existing poverty rate,” added Haryo.
Dompet Dhuafa collaborates with various companies, platforms and banks to make it easier for people to make a difference, one of which is Bank Jago Syariah, with online service methods. Dompet Dhuafa provides zakat calculation and technology-based payment gateways using barcodes in this service.

The digitization efforts developed by Dompet Dhuafa are paying off and increasing zakat collection and mustahik empowerment every year. During 2022, Dompet Dhuafa has succeeded in raising funds worth IDR 394.31 billion, with details of 50% being zakat collection, 15% sacrifice, 9% infaq, 13% bound infaq, 7% waqf, 4% CSR, and 2% social humanitarian.
