Dompet Dhuafa Receives Waqf Surplus from PT Wasila Nusantara

JAKARTA — On Tuesday (February 20, 2024), PT Wasila Nusantara presented a waqf asset management profit, or waqf surplus, of IDR 887,875,109 (eight hundred eighty-seven million eight hundred seventy-five thousand one hundred nine) to the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation at its headquarters in South Jakarta. This significant achievement marks the completion of profit recording from Dompet Dhuafa’s waqf assets management for the year 2023 by mid-February 2024.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation; Herdiansah, CEO of PT Wasila Nusantara for the year 2023; Prima Hadi Putra, Head of the Waqf Investment Development Institute at Dompet Dhuafa; and Iqbal, General Manager of the Waqf Development Division at Dompet Dhuafa.

Ahmad Juwaini expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, “We are profoundly thankful for the transfer of profits from productive waqf management. We hope that the accomplishments will bring widespread benefits to the community.”

The management of productive waqf assets, characterized by professionalism and transparency, has successfully yielded profits for both the company and the foundation. These profits, handed over to the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, are set to be reinvested into the community through a variety of programs orchestrated by the Foundation.

Herdiansah reflected on the achievement, “Facing the mounting economic challenges, we at PT Wasila Nusantara are grateful for recording a positive surplus. This surplus enables us to contribute beneficially to society.”

PT Wasila Nusantara, a philanthropic unit of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, has been tasked with managing the foundation’s assets across several regions since 2016. The management scope includes a variety of productive waqf assets, such as meeting buildings, residential homes, shophouses, kiosks, and parking facilities, all overseen with expert management.
