Penghimpunan Dompet Dhuafa di Ramadan 1445 H tumbuh 5,17 persen

JAKARTA – The month that is so coveted, Ramadan 1445 H, has just passed. Now, it’s time for Muslims to celebrate the victory after successfully fighting lust for one month. This celebration is certainly not complete if it is only felt by some people. That’s why zakat is obligatory and infaq is encouraged by Islam. As a national amil zakat institution, Dompet Dhuafa is always on full alert during the month of Ramadan to manage every fund entrusted by donors. Even until the early hours of 1 Syawal 1445 H, coinciding with Wednesday, April 10, 2024 AD, namely on the day of Eid al-Fitr, Dompet Dhuafa’s amil are still struggling with these funds so that they are channeled properly and precisely to those in need.

Accompanied by the echoes of takbir chanting throughout the night of Eid al-Fitr 1445 AH, Dompet Dhuafa announced the accumulation of zakat and infaq funds during Ramadan 1445 AH. In its records, there was a growth of 9.7 percent from the previous year’s Ramadan collection.

Chair of the Executive Board of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation (YDDR), Ahmad Juwaini, said that this record was a positive trend for the collection of Dompet Dhuafa in 2024, as well as for the Indonesian people in general. This means that the generosity of the community has not subsided and has actually increased. This is in line with the World Giving Index data, which states that Indonesians have been the most generous people in the world for six consecutive years.

In addition, this is also evident from the increasing number of donor participation. Based on records, Gen-Z still dominates Dompet Dhuafa’s donor data. In addition, the awareness of every individual and community to play an active role in solving social, economic, health, education, to da’wah & culture problems, also continues to grow.

“Alhamdulillah, the increase in donor participation this year continues to increase and this is something we are grateful for. The generosity of the community also continues to show a positive trend with an increase in collection growth of 9.7 percent,” Ahmad said in a press release, Wednesday (4/10/2024).

This positive growth is also supported by various programs rolled out by Dompet Dhuafa during Ramadan. There are five pillars of distribution programs spread across various regions of Indonesia, including economic, health, education, social, and da’wah & culture programs.

In addition, of course this achievement cannot be separated from the role of donors who entrust their funds to Dompet Dhuafa. One of the donors from Cibubur, Tri Nugroho, has long entrusted his zakat and donations to Dompet Dhuafa. He believes that Dompet Dhuafa will continue to be trustworthy in channeling every deposited fund.

“We believe in Dompet Dhuafa that what we entrust is given to those who are entitled,” said Tri Nugroho, Dompet Dhuafa Donor when using the zakat pick-up service, on Saturday (4/5/2024), in Cibubur.

“We entrust zakat to Dompet Dhuafa because here, God willing, it is trustworthy and the place is easy to find, such as in malls. So it makes it easier to distribute our zakat,” said Wima, when paying zakat at the Dompet Dhuafa donation service outlet located in Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/4/2024).
