TANGERANG — The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) exhibition was re-opened by the coordinating minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartanto, on Thursday (10/8/2023). Southeast Asia’s largest automotive exhibition event will last 11 days until August 20, 2023, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City Building, Tangerang, with the theme “Future Now.” The GIIAS 2023 exhibition puts forward the government’s target: to realize Net Zero emissions by 2045. One of them is by encouraging electric car sales.
“GIIAS is a good thing for us to encourage carbon reduction with electric vehicles,” said Airlangga when opening the exhibition.
As in previous years, Dompet Dhuafa, as GIIAS’ charity partner, is back to complete the series of events. Dompet Dhuafa also supports GIIAS and the government in realising Net Zero Emission in Indonesia. This support aligns with Dompet Dhuafa’s programs: reducing and preventing environmental and emission pollution.

Likewise, in line with what the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) said, Yohannes Nangoi Gaikindo fully supports the Indonesian government’s steps to achieve Net Zero Emissions by encouraging new environmentally-friendly car models.
Since 2018, Dompet Dhuafa and GIIAS have worked together to create kindness programs. In 2019, Dompet Dhuafa and Gaikindo held an event, “GIIAS EDUCARE Caring with Dompet Dhuafa.” In addition, there is also a blood donation action for visitors to the exhibition.
Developing more broadly, in the GIIAS Educare program in 2022, Gaikindo and Dompet Dhuafa provided educational assistance in the form of school renovation for the Private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MIS) Nurul Falah Kampung Gaok, Pangadegan Village, Pasar Kemis, Tangerang Regency.

Meanwhile, in 2023, GIIAS Educare will renovate the school building owned by MIS Nurul Falah Gelam Jaya in Jl. KH Samaun Desa Gelam Jaya, Pasar Kemis, Tangerang, Banten. On Saturday (15/7/2023), Dompet Dhuafa GIIAS and Astra Financial directly reviewed the condition of MIS Nurul Falah Gelam Jaya and officially handed over renovation assistance to this school building.
“This program is a social program that aligns with Astra’s values contained in Catur Dharma Astra. The first dharma is to want to be a property beneficial to the nation and state. This program is a tangible form of Astra’s concern for education, which is implemented in the form of school building renovation,” said Wioko Team Leader of Astra Financial GIIAS 2023, when handing over assistance to MIS Nurul Falah Gelam Jaya, Saturday (15/7/2023).
Meanwhile, Dian Sukma Riany, as Strategic Corporate Partnership, said that Dompet Dhuafa at GIIAS 2023 comes with three series of activities:
- The renovation of MIS Nurul Falah Gelam Jaya school has been ongoing since July.
- The act of blood donation.
- “Education Day” for vocational students.

“Hopefully, the presence of Dompet Dhuafa at the GIIAS exhibition can more broadly inspire people to care for others and collaborate in acts of kindness,” he said.
Later, in the middle of the exhibition, the Free Health Service (LKC) Dompet Dhuafa will again hold Blood Donation for exhibition visitors by cooperating with PMI. This activity will last three days at the Garuda Hall ICE BSD on August 14, 15, and 16, 2023.
On August 16, 2023, Dompet Dhuafa held an “Education Day” event for SMK students in Tangerang. One hundred fifty students specially invited through the Dompet Dhuafa Institute of Independence (IK) will be taught about the advanced automotive world while being invited to tour each GIIAS exhibition.
