SOUTH TANGERANG – Dompet Dhuafa has sent aid packages to Palestine again on Thursday (11/2/2023). These packages, numbering in the thousands, include 1,000 baby blankets, 1,000 mattresses, and 660 adult blankets. This humanitarian aid was dispatched through Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) in collaboration with the Government of Indonesia and will be delivered to the Indonesian Air Force Warehouse on Friday (11/3/2023).
Ahmad Shonhaji, Director of Social Services and Cultural Da’wah at Dompet Dhuafa, noted during the dispatch that the organization’s concern for the Palestinian people is longstanding. Dompet Dhuafa has a history of providing aid, notably in 2008 and 2009 when Gaza was bombarded by Israel.
“Alhamdulillah, today we are again sending aid to be delivered through cooperation with the Indonesian government,” Shonhaji said. “We have been working through our local health partners in Palestine, who have been instrumental in aiding the community, in addition to our collaboration with the Indonesian government.”

Arif Rahmadi Haryono, Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, added that the aid was prepared with the help of humanitarian volunteers, working diligently from morning until night. The volunteers united in their efforts to load the aid into Dompet Dhuafa’s tactical fleet.
“The recent events in Palestine have drawn the attention of both Dompet Dhuafa and the global community,” Arif explained.
“The Israeli aggression against Palestine this October has been unprecedented,” said Arif.

He condemned the blockade that restricts access to basic necessities for the Palestinian people, describing it as a violation of international law. He stressed the urgent need for aid shipments and the opening of humanitarian access in the Gaza region.
Previously, Dompet Dhuafa distributed 125 aid packages at the Jabalia Camp refugee site in Gaza, assisting a total of 500 individuals on Tuesday (10/10/2023).
During the Israeli attacks in early October 2023, a medical ambulance, partnered with Dompet Dhuafa’s Free Health Services (LKC), was hit by an Israeli missile, rendering it inoperable. Despite this setback, Dompet Dhuafa’s local volunteer partners persevered in providing services and evacuating Palestinian victims.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on Wednesday (11/1/2023) that as many as 8,805 Palestinian residents had been killed, including 3,650 children, 2,252 women, and 460 elderly. A total of 22,240 Palestinians were injured as a result of Israel’s prolonged and structural occupation, with children and women making up 70 percent of the victims.
In Gaza, there are 1.4 million internally displaced people, with nearly 672,000 living in overcrowded temporary tents. This situation is exacerbated by a 21-day continuous electricity outage.
More than 35,000 Palestinian homes, 246 educational facilities, 11 food stores, 21 hospitals, 28 ambulance fleets, 20 sanitation facilities, 52 mosques, and 7 churches have been completely destroyed.
In healthcare, one out of three hospitals and two out of three medical services are either closed or impaired. There are 1,000 renal failure patients and 9,000 cancer patients in critical condition, with a critical shortage of medications. Currently, only 13 hospitals remain operational and have been ordered to evacuate immediately.
Dear Friends, now is the time to collaborate and strengthen our solidarity. No one should be subjected to colonization. It’s time to eradicate colonization from the world. Let’s unite in solidarity to help Palestine. (Dompet Dhuafa/DMC)
