BANDUNG — As a philanthropic organization with experience in managing zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (Ziswaf) funds for more than 30 years, Dompet Dhuafa is trusted to be one of the speakers for the Iqtishaduna International Conference. This event is a prestigious international conference organized by the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung.
Taking place for two days on Thursday-Friday (22-22/11/2024), at Shakti Hotel Bandung, this conference carries the theme “The Role of Islamic Social Finance in Addressing Global Humanitarian Crises: Innovations, Challenges, and Collaboration”.
This international economic conference is a place for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to present research and share ideas related to zakat, waqf, global poverty alleviation, humanitarian assistance, financial inclusion, post-crisis recovery, and the use of technology, such as blockchain in Islamic finance.

Dompet Dhuafa, represented by General Manager of Branch Development, Bobby P. Manullang, was present as a resource person to share insights on the role of Islamic social finance in addressing humanitarian crises.
In the panel discussion session, Bobby emphasized the importance of collaboration between philanthropic institutions, academics, and the private sector to create innovative and sustainable sharia-based strategic solutions.
“Dompet Dhuafa is committed to making Islamic social finance a key instrument in addressing global challenges, from poverty to post-crisis recovery. Knowledge about zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf is very important for the community to understand so that the benefits can be felt more widely,” Bobby said.
The presence of Dompet Dhuafa as a resource person emphasizes the role of Islamic philanthropy in supporting the development of the Islamic economy in the modern era. Collaboration between philanthropy, academia, and technological innovation is expected to be able to present concrete solutions to various global problems.
