PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA — In an effort to uphold the credibility of the Zakat Management Organization (LAZ) Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra Branch (DD Sumsel), Dompet Dhuafa has successfully applied for the renewal of the LAZ Legal Status Decree with the South Sumatra Province Ministry of Religious Affairs. This endeavor has yielded positive results.
On Thursday (4/1/2023), DD Sumsel was officially awarded the Provincial LAZ Legal Status Decree. The decree was personally handed over by Hj. Evi Zurviana Azom, SE, M.Pd.I, the Head of the Department of Islamic Guidance, Zakat, and Waqf (Penais Zawa), to DD Sumsel, represented by its Branch Manager, Rizki Asmuni.

Decree No. 922 of 2023 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of South Sumatra authorizes the extension of the license for Dompet Dhuafa Republika South Sumatra’s zakat management organization representation in the South Sumatra Province. It confirms that Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra Branch has met all the prerequisites to operate a national-scale zakat management organization within South Sumatra. This decision was formalized in Palembang on December 29, 2023.
The formal ceremony for the handover of the Provincial LAZ Legal Status Extension Decree to Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra Branch took place, transitioning the legal documents from the South Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs to the Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel. With this extended license, Dompet Dhuafa aims to continue its positive impact in managing zakat funds to empower and elevate the dignity of underprivileged communities in the South Sumatra Province.
Rizki Asmuni, the Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel, expressed his delight at securing the operational license extension for the provincial-scale LAZ for DD Sumsel.
