The way Dompet Dhuafa helps creative business actors, especially from MSMEs, is by providing access to financing, training, mentoring, skill provision, capital provision, market search and development, to assistance in obtaining halal certification.

As one example, through an economic empowerment program while preserving the cultural heritage of the archipelago, Dompet Dhuafa empowers women batik makers in Yogyakarta. One of them is Nani Nurhayati Lestari, a mother of two. Produced in the village of Giriloyo, Imogiri, her batik named Batik Berkah Lestari has become a pioneer for other batik groups.

Now, Batik Berkah Lestari has successfully reached the international market. Not surprisingly, several foreign travelers often visit the Batik Berkah Lestari production house to buy or simply seek inspiration from Nani.

Raden Prisya shared her experience of visiting Dompet Dhuafa’s programs.

Not only Suci, there was also a female mindfulness & well-being practitioner, Raden Prisya. She shared how her experience was involved in various social actions and visits to several Dompet Dhuafa economic empowerment sites. She also acknowledged that Dompet Dhuafa is very creative in creating programs whose results are very impactful and can be felt by the beneficiaries.

Prisya also gave tips, especially for women, on how to continue to be useful by dividing time between personal, family and social activities. Especially those who are financially still in the pioneering stage.

The first thing Prisya tried to suggest was to realize and regulate breathing. When busy, one’s breath will tend to quicken. By realizing the rhythm of the breath and heartbeat, one can regulate it and try to make it stable. Then surrender, but not give up. Those are two different things. Surrender means depending on God for results, meaning there is still hope. Whereas giving up would tend to mean that there is no more hope.
