CENTRAL TAPANULI, NORTH SUMATRA — Dompet Dhuafa Waspada handed over the Well Waqf to residents around the Miftahussalam Mosque, Rawa Makmur Village, Kolang District, Central Tapanuli Regency on Sunday (27/8/2023).
The construction of this Waqf Well came from a donor who made a waqf through Dompet Dhuafa Waspada. Previously, the Dompet Dhuafa Waspada Team had conducted an assessment regarding the location where the well was built. As a result, the location is a location that is difficult to get clean water.
Parlan, Chairman of the Miftahussalam Mosque DKM, said that Rawa Makmur Village is an area with peat soil conditions. Such conditions affect the water that cannot perfectly absorb into the soil, so it becomes cloudy and not suitable for consumption.

“Because it’s peat soil here, the water is bad, reddish in color,” he said.
Therefore, Dompet Dhuafa as an extension of the donors built a well which was then handed over to local residents for mutual benefit.
“We thank Dompet Dhuafa Waspada very much, especially to donors who are willing to donate to build wells for the community here,” he continued.

The well waqf was symbolically handed over by Dompet Dhuafa Waspada Branch Manager Sulaiman to Parlan. After the symbolic handover, Sulaiman expressed his hope for the Well Waqf. He hopes that this Waqf Well can be used properly by the community.
“Hopefully, this Waqf Well can be useful for cleaning purposes, especially for the worshippers in the mosque,” said Sulaiman.
Not to forget, Sulaiman also advised to always take care and maintain the well given by the donor. In addition, Dompet Dhuafa Waspada also distributed a number of Al-Qur’an and Iqra and prayer guide books for the congregation of the Miftahussalam Mosque. (Dompet Dhuafa/Muthohar/Syafira)
