WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa Cabang Jawa Barat launched two empowerment programs, namely Kampung Ternak and Tani Padu in the Cirebon region, on Thursday (16/2/2023). This program is held to support the local community’s economy based on developing local economic potential.
As in several other regions in West Java, Cirebon is now one of the areas for the implementation and expansion of Dompet Dhuafa’s socio-economic programs. This program was finally completed and inaugurated in collaboration with Bazma Regional 2 Zone 7 Cirebon on February 16, 2023.
The Livestock Village program is located in the Ponpes Nurjati area, Kalisapu Village, Gunung Jati District, Cirebon Regency. This program is in the form of assisting the community, especially the dhuafa community who have the ability in animal husbandry, namely goats. The assistance provided comes from zakat funds, which are then realized by the construction of communal pens, the provision of sheep breeds, assistance and strengthening the long-term capacity of partners to bathe the beneficiaries.
“This program is prepared in a fairly long period, through an assessment process and long discussions with various parties. It would be great if this program could provide economic support to the local community. The beneficiaries of the Kampung Ternak program come from various backgrounds such as farmers, traders, small farmers, and salaried teachers,” explained Andriansyah as the Branch Leader of Dompet Dhuafa Jabar (West Java).
