JAKARTA — Since October 7, 2023 to this day, Israeli military attacks on Palestine have killed more than 35 thousand Palestinians. Not only that, this attack has injured more than 80 thousand people and around 1.7 million Palestinians are displaced and threatened with not being able to live properly, and full of fear. According to Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) Situation Report as of May 25, 2024, there are currently no hospitals accessible to residents in the North Gaza region. Also, many infectious diseases are on the rise, especially those affecting children.
According to VOA Indonesia’s website, global condemnation poured in on Monday (5/27/2024) due to Israel’s attack on a camp in Rafah that houses Palestinian refugees. This attack was reported to have killed 45 people. The UN Security Council called for an emergency meeting on the Rafah attack and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned what he called an attack that killed dozens of innocent civilians seeking refuge from the deadly conflict.
“There is no safe haven in Gaza. This horror must stop,” Guterres added in a social media post. Other UN officials also urged a thorough investigation into the incident.

Seeing the increasingly brutal attacks on our brothers and sisters in Palestine, NCTzen & WayZenNi Indonesia were moved to help them by collecting donations. On Tuesday (5/21/2024), at Pejaten, South Jakarta, the donation was handed over directly by Himawan as the Coordinator of NCTzen Humanity-a fanbase account that manages donations in the social and humanitarian fields-to Dompet Dhuafa. The humanitarian donation collected amounted to Rp84,457,368. The donation will be distributed to the Palestinians through Dompet Dhuafa’s programs.
“Alhamdulillah, this donation was collected from NCTzen and WayZenNi Indonesia through X and Instagram platforms. Hopefully, this donation can ease the burden of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. NCTzen and WayZenNi Indonesia are committed to always support our brothers and sisters in Palestine as much as they can,” said Himawan.
Himawan wants this kindness to continue, so that it can help the struggle of the Palestinian people. This donation is also a tangible proof of NCTzen and WayZenNi Indonesia’s support for the Palestinian people.
“Hopefully this kindness will not stop and continue to run. Thank you to all donors who have donated their personal funds for the welfare of our brothers and sisters,” Himawan continued.
The Emergency Telecommunications Cluster reported that currently the main concern is that the Palestinian people still need a lot of assistance, both short-term and long-term. Network outages, insecurity, and access challenges continue to disrupt aid operations in Gaza.

In line with this, Dompet Dhuafa through trusted local partners is still trying to distribute aid to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. The aid is in the form of medicines, fuel, and staple food for residents in three points in the Gaza Strip. Among them are in the Rafah border area, Khan Younis City in the Southern Gaza Strip, and Deir Al-Balah City in the Central Gaza Strip. Shelter assistance for 200 units in Rafah refugee camp and ambulance service assistance in South Gaza.
“Thank you to Mas Himawan and also to NCTzen and WayZenNi Indonesia colleagues who have participated in helping to alleviate the lives of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Alhamdulillah for entrusting this assistance to Dompet Dhuafa to be immediately distributed,” said Dimas Muttakhin as Community Relations Specialist of Dompet Dhuafa.
“Alhamdulillah, until now Dompet Dhuafa is still working to provide basic needs, medical assistance, and shelter for our brothers and sisters in Palestine,” Dimas continued.
Dompet Dhuafa distributes donations to Palestine through various methods. Among others, through the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local Palestinian NGOs, and collaborating with the Indonesia Humanitarian Alliance (IHA). Dompet Dhuafa also sent three amil as representatives to the Rafah border in November 2023 to oversee the distribution of aid.
