BANDAR LAMPUNG — Orphans have a special position in Islam. Through various words in the Quran, Allah Swt tells His servants to take good care of orphans. So special are orphans that they are mentioned 23 times in the Quran.
One of the forms of sunnah that is taught and ordered to be followed is the command to honor, support, love and care for orphans. In Islamic teachings, the care and development of orphans is not limited to physical things, such as wealth, but also includes various psychological things.
That morning, Sunday (07/21/2024), something was different at the Dompet Dhuafa Lampung Office. Because as many as 30 orphans from orphanages and the community gathered to take part in the Muharram Fest 1446 Hijri agenda, in order to enliven the month of Muharram and glorify orphans.

They were invited to learn while playing in the Green Valley animal park, besides that the 30 orphans were also given the opportunity to be able to shop for school needs at the Mote-Mote shop. This agenda is a collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa Lampung and Darul Fattah Peduli. In order to glorify and make orphans happy.
Cheerful laughter was on the face of every child. They went around to see various animals while getting education and knowledge related to animals in Taman Lembah Hijau. In addition, the children also watched the attractions of birds, otters and other animals. The children were very enthusiastic about seeing the animals, especially the elephants and tigers.
After the animal education in the Green Valley, the children were allowed to freely shop for school supplies at the Mote-Mote shop.
“Kak, I want to buy socks for school,” said Hafidz (8) to his older sibling.

Despite the tired look on their faces after walking around all day, the children were happy after buying various school supplies. Starting from books, pencils, lunch boxes, tumblers, sandals, piggy banks and others.
Not only Hafidz, Mahira (9) actually took advantage of this moment to buy more motes, this is because the child who is in grade 4 elementary school also trades bracelets and cellphone hangers that she made herself from the motes.
Today’s experience is a moment and memory that will remain in their memory.
“Thank you sis, I’m really happy today to have seen elephants, tigers and also shopping,” said Faqih (7), one of the participants of Muharram Fest 1446 Hijriah.
After all the activities were completed, the children said goodbye and returned to their homes. They received food packages from KPP Madya Bandar Lampung, compensation money from mote-mote, and the results of shopping for school needs. The farewell was filled with happy smiles and gratitude from the children.
“Alhamdulillah, to fill the good activities in the month of Muharram, the month of orphans, Dompet Dhuafa Lampung and Darul Fattah Peduli organized the Muharram Fest agenda. An annual program in the month of Muharram to make orphans happy and glorified,” said Yogi Achmad Fajar, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Lampung.
