LAMPUNG — Dompet Dhuafa Lampung, in collaboration with the MPZ Baitulmaal Berkah Madani Center, has launched the Yatimpreneur program. This initiative took place at the Berkah Madani Center Surau, Way Kandis, Bandar Lampung on Sunday (7/1/2024).
Yatimpreneur was initiated in response to various unforeseen circumstances in society, one of which is the prevalence of children who have become the breadwinners of their families due to the loss of their fathers.
Yogi Achmad Fajar, the Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Lampung, stated that this program is a concrete form of collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa Lampung and the MPZ Baitulmaal Berkah Madani Center in developing the entrepreneurial life skills of orphans.

“The Yatimpreneur program aims to cultivate the entrepreneurial character of orphans, making them excellent, resilient, and inspirational individuals,” he said during the welcome speech.
Bayu Ari Wibowo, the Guardian of the Berkah Madani Center Foundation, also emphasized that limitations should not be an excuse to stop progressing. He believes that the spirit and personality of entrepreneurship should be inherent in every individual.
“Despite our limitations, we must maximize our potential. The entrepreneurial character should reside in every soul and individual. Entrepreneurs are characterized by creativity, innovation, and independent thinking,” he explained.

The Yatimpreneur program is one of Dompet Dhuafa’s innovative initiatives in empowering orphans. With this program, Yogi hopes that Dompet Dhuafa and the Berkah Madani Center will inspire others to continue honoring orphans.
The program’s launch marks the beginning of training activities and mentoring for the benefit recipients. Six selected scholarship recipients will undergo intensive entrepreneurship training for four weeks or one month. Participants will later receive mentoring, guidance, and business capital support at the end of the program.
Additionally, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session was held during the launch to delve deeper into the training needs of the participants, business conditions, and future business development.

Khairulisun (19), one of the Yatimpreneur Scholarship recipients, expressed gratitude and excitement for being selected as a participant.
“Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to gain knowledge, friends, and experience. I hope this activity makes me a better person, enables me to create job opportunities, and motivates young people to venture into entrepreneurship,” he said. (Dompet Dhuafa/Lampung/Muthohar)
