FKG USU Students Hold Children’s Dental Check Up Service at Bintang Rabbani School

DELI SERDANG, NORTH SUMATRA — Students of Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi or FKG (Faculty of Dentistry) of University of Sumatra Utara (USU) held a community service activity to check children’s teeth at Bintang Rabbani School Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, on Saturday (4/2/2023).

This activity was the first time carried out at Bintang Rabbani School located in Rumah Sumbul Village, STM Hulu Sub-District, Deli Serdang Regency.

“Of course, this activity really makes us happy, considering the location of our school which is far from the city, it is very rare to have a dental check-up activity like this,” said the Director of Bintang Rabbani School, Amal Lubis.

Before the examination activities were carried out, the Deputy Dean III of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari S.psi. Sp. Perio (K) said that the holding of this activity was also not without reason.

“In addition to holding services, we are also concerned about the high cases of cavities in children, there are still high cases for this dental problem,” she said.

By holding this activity, drg. Pitu wants the problem of toothache in children to be slowly overcome.

“We all hope that children in the entire Indonesia can be free from toothache problems and free from cavities,” she said.

The holding of this activity was also well welcomed by the Branch Head of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, Sulaiman.

“The holding of this activity is certainly very good for Bintang Rabbani students. It’s not only just a dental check up, but it also gives motivation for them to be able to continue their studies to become doctors,” he said.
