PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA – Achmad Bintang, a benefit recipient of the GenZAKAT Scholarship from Dompet Dhuafa in South Sumatra, recently attained remarkable success. He secured third place in the First Aid Contest (team achievement) and was acclaimed as the Best Leader (individual achievement) in the 2023 SIMBELS EXTION First Aid Competition for Boys, hosted at SMA Negeri 19 Palembang.
In an exclusive interview, Bintang recounted his journey to earning his first achievements in the field of first aid, both as a team member and as the Best Leader.

He shared that his initial encounter with the competition was through social media, and he was motivated to participate by peers from his extracurricular activity, the school’s Youth Red Cross (PMR). The contest, which took place on September 23—24, 2023, saw participation from high school students across Palembang and its surrounding areas.
“I entered this competition to explore something new and to gain experience that could enhance my portfolio for my Curriculum Vitae,” he stated.
Bintang also extended his heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported him in achieving these honors.

“I am grateful to the Youth Red Cross members who encouraged me to join the extracurricular activity and the competition. This experience has been invaluable for competing, and I am thankful to the coach for the guidance, direction, and advice provided during the preparation phase,” he remarked.
“I also want to express my thanks to GenZAKAT Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel and the mentors for their support and encouragement, which played a crucial role in my winning of this competition and in reminding me to maintain a balance between worldly life and the afterlife,” Bintang further added.
