JAKARTA — On Friday (8/3/2024), the Education Attaché of the Malaysian Embassy Jakarta visited the Dompet Dhuafa office at the Philantrophy Building, South Jakarta. On this visit, they were not alone, but came with Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS). Dompet Dhuafa also invited its education programme implementing partner, GREAT Edunesia.
EMGS, which is under the auspices of the Malaysian Government, is responsible for organising the movement of international students in Malaysia. This includes visa processing. Through the Integrated Centre, EMGS provides services for international students pursuing higher education in various educational institutions, language centres, and training in Malaysia.
In addition, EMGS is also active in global marketing and promotional activities for Malaysian educational institutions and products. This includes tours and participation in international exhibitions and conferences. With the collaboration with Education Malaysia, EMGS is committed to providing world-class education to the global community.

‘Apart from introducing EMGS, we also made this visit to discuss opportunities for education collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa. I would like to thank Dompet Dhuafa for providing the mass and space to meet with us, to share a little about education in Malaysia,’ said Azhar Bin Mohamed, Associate Director Corporate Strategy of EMGS.
Dompet Dhuafa welcomed this visit and offer of collaboration with open arms. This was stated by the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, Ahmad Juwaini, during the meeting.
‘From Education Malaysia Global services, we see that the visit was very good because it brought valuable information regarding the opportunities for schools and scholarships for bachelor and master levels in Malaysia. So, of course, we will match this information with the programmes in Dompet Dhuafa,’ said Ahmad Juwaini.
In addition to Ahmad Juwaini, Herdiansah as Vice Chairman II of Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation was also present. While GREAT Edunesia was represented by Mulyadi Saputra, as Secretary. Mulyadi said he was ready to collaborate with EMGS. According to him, this is an opportunity for GREAT Edunesia to expand its benefits in the field of education.
‘EMGS offers Dompet Dhuafa to collaborate in the field of education. This means that beneficiaries of Dompet Dhuafa or programmes from Dompet Dhuafa can also access education in Malaysia. So, one of the outputs is that friends from EMGS will offer and send proposals to Dompet Dhuafa, what the scheme will be like. This is actually an opportunity for Dompet Dhuafa to access education globally,’ Mulyadi Saputra explained.
In addition, through this collaboration, EMGS can get to know Dompet Dhuafa in the future. So that not only education, but there are other things that can be collaborated.
‘The hope is that cooperation can actually be realised in the sense that what is presented or offered by Education Malaysia Global Services will actually match our programmes and cooperation will occur. So that there will be some Indonesian young people, especially those from schools managed by Dompet Dhuafa or scholarship programmes that have been managed by Dompet Dhuafa, will be able to take advantage of being able to study S1 or S2 in Malaysia,’ added Ahmad Juwaini.
GREAT Edunesia itself has managed several Dompet Dhuafa scholarship programmes. Among them are BAKTI NUSA, Etos ID, Youth Ekselensia Scholarship, SMART Ekselensia Indonesia, and Ekselensia Tahfizh School.
Therefore, the collaboration space between GREAT Edunesia and EMGS is wide open on future occasions. Hopefully this good collaboration in the field of education can be well established. (Dompet Dhuafa)
