AN GIANG, VIETNAM — The synergy of the construction of the Indonesian Salamad Mosque in Long Xuyen, An Giang, Vietnam by the synergy of the Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI); Dompet Dhuafa, Rumah Zakat DT Peduli and Human Initiative is bearing fruit. In the August-September 2024 period, the Salamad Mosque, which is under construction, has reached the casting stage.
Mr. Chau, the Indonesian Salamad Mosque Construction Contractor in Vietnam delivered a message in the form of a brief construction report to Dompet Dhuafa on Sunday (08/09/2024). He said that the construction process was running according to the process and stages. The people of Long Xuyen are also happy and pray for the Indonesian people and all those who have helped.
“The concrete of the basement has already been finished. Since mid-August the construction process has continued smoothly according to the process and stages, Alhamdulillah. The Vietnamese people, especially in the Long Xuyen area, were moved and happy, and also prayed in gratitude for the construction of the Mosque. The Imam of the Mosque also witnessed this construction,” said Mr. Chau.
The construction of the Salamad Mosque was initiated by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Prof. Muhadjir Effendy and the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, Denny Abdi. Until the laying of the first stone of the construction of the Salamad Indonesia Mosque on June 27, 2024.
Dian Mulyadi, General Manager of Corporate Secretary and Information Technology of Dompet Dhuafa expressed his gratitude, because to this day the community and the government continue to believe in Dompet Dhuafa as an Islamic philanthropic institution to be involved in the development of the people. This includes the construction of the Salamad Indonesia Mosque in Long Xuyen City, Vietnam.
The Salamad Indonesia Mosque is built on a 132-square-meter plot and stands four stories tall. It is a donation or waqf from Mrs. Thi Ri Yah (86), who has lived on the land for several generations. The mosque will serve the Muslim community in Long Xuyen, which currently consists of around 300 individuals.
Amid cultural and linguistic differences, the spirit of building a place of worship unites us as Muslims. May the Salamad Indonesia Mosque become a symbol of everlasting brotherhood. (Dompet Dhuafa)
