DEPOK, WEST JAVA — Almost the end of the holy month of Ramadan does not mean that our intention to share with others is dampened. The spirit is still burning, as Dompet Dhuafa and LuLu Hypermarket did. On Thursday (4/4/2024), in collaboration with LuLu Hypermarket, Dompet Dhuafa held Belanja Bareng Yatim. Located at The Park Sawangan Mall, Depok, 20 orphans from Al-Kamilah Foundation and Wecan Foundation were given the freedom to shop, as well as break the fast with Dompet Dhuafa.
LuLu Hypermarket representative, Mukkhafidotin Nisa, said that this activity of honoring orphans has been carried out for four years. LuLu Hypermarket collaborates with Dompet Dhuafa to collaborate to share happiness with orphans by shopping together. She hopes that this experience can provide happiness for orphans in welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.

“Happy shopping, I hope you are happy. You can buy things to prepare for Eid,” said Nisa.
The children’s cheerful faces were seen. They bought their daily needs. Starting from toiletries, washing, and groceries. Afifah (6) chose to buy clothes to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1445 H. Some other children chose to buy caps, sarongs, to daily necessities, such as cleaning tools and staple foods.
Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Service Institution (LPM) Orphan Program staff, Priyanto Saputro Ramadan, said that this agenda has been running in four points. Among them are in Tangerang, Depok, East Jakarta, and West Jakarta. Although it is approaching the Feast Day, this activity will continue to run in two points, namely South Tangerang and Bogor.
“Bareng Yatim Shopping is running in six locations. The hope is that the children will be more enthusiastic about fasting during Ramadan, as well as welcoming Eid. Children can buy clothes for Eid,” said Priyanto.
Rizky (13), a child who is a beneficiary of this program admitted that he was happy because he could finally buy a sarong to pray. In addition, he also bought food staples such as cooking oil.
“Cooking oil for cooking at the foundation. Because those who cook are the administrators and students. Thank you Dompet Dhuafa, hopefully it will be a blessing,” said Rizky.
After shopping, the children broke their fast with the assistants from Dompet Dhuafa and took pictures together. (Dompet Dhuafa)
