LAMPUNG — Four residents of South Lampung felt happy. They are Paiman, Rebo, Febri, and Budi. The reason is, they succeeded in harvesting catfish from the cultivation of the integration concept. The harvested catfish pond is under the Maggotin cage, which is one of the environmental programs initiated by Dompet Dhuafa Lampung.

The Maggotin program integrates the use of waste to feed maggot, then maggot is used to feed catfish and poultry. As a result, the mustahiks get additional income from this cultivation process.

On Friday (5/17/2024) morning, the catfish harvesting in the Maggotin pond was the third stage after being carried out twice in recent times. Paiman said, that day he and three of his friends managed to lift more than 50 kilograms of catfish from the pond.

“Yesterday we harvested several times, today about 50 kilos. In total there are 150 kilos from the beginning,” he said.

Dompet Dhuafa Lampung Branch Manager, Yogi Achmad Fajar, said that this program is a form of Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment to alleviating various problems in the community.
